While I think you do a great job and are an amazing Terps fan, I don't think you've ever had a single orignal thought of your own ever. Stop being a microphone for other people who tell you how they think things are and come up to your own conclusions.

You think our students and fans were bad this year? Attendance increased despite not having been to the tournament in 2 years, no high caliber home opponents, and a team who was incredibly frustrating to watch. We showed incredibly well in Brooklyn and the crowds were significantly improved over last year. I don't know how you can give the players a C and the coaching staff a B. Those two grades should almost always be the same if you think the players are working as hard as they can.

    1) and please listen very carefully -- ....(.....)...insert the two words of your choice and neither one is Merry Christmas-- no one has ever told me what to say -- or when to say it -- ever. If you think that is the case I will give you any number of Maryland Administration's staff's cell phone numbers -- and if that doesn't do it for you you we could move to some regents, the president of the state senate, the current or past Gov. of the state

    2) go back and reread -- did I simply say students? No I said fans and students -- fans means everyone that has tickets and supports the teams.

There are people who come here and pay to bitch who don't go to games or give a dime -- in my mind they suck.

Yes I think our students and fans could be better -- a lot better -- and you know what I've been in about 50 more college gyms than you have so I've got a pretty decent idea about that.

the wall was filled for every ACC game I think

no it was not and I have a very good view of it -- the early acc games got good crowds because it was break and we sold the student tickets.

  • Fans, especially students, were fine this year given product and recent history. A couple of things re: Cole:

    1. It seated about 4,000 less people so it was a tougher ticket in general.
    2. It's complete revisionist history to suggest that Cole was consistently packed for games against weak opponents.

again let me circle back to "fans and students"-- in cole sections D E F were always full from 1970 forward. That was the none student section -- when we went to Comcast those sections went to $$ not to loyalty. Now they are never full -- except for the biggest games

    3. There was no point getting up at halftime at Cole unless you were leaving.

I'm half serious about this one. One of the huge momentum killers in Comcast is having half the crowd out getting a Dove bar (?) instead of in their seats for the start of the second half. Get up, go pee, get back, sit down and be ready. Oh, and wait for a timeout to walk to your seat.

And stay off my lawn, damn it.

I got the shotgun. You got the briefcase. It's all in the game though, right?

The concourse designed for a place a quarter of the size was a big problem with getting around during halftime.

You help build you don't show up when it is built/

I don't think anyone is telling you what to say. I think because of the position you are in, important people tell you things and then you take it as gospel.

You are preaching to the choir regarding the idea of supporting our programs. I'm sure an enormously greater % of people here donate compared to the average maryland grad/fan. Not everyone has the means to do it either.

And how do you know how many college gyms I've been to?! Our students are better then any school I've seen that has had equal or worse success then us over the pase decade. Show me a better fanbase and I'll show you much better results.

Having few bathrooms didn't help either. I can remember standing up at halftime and that was it. Part of why I liked it so much; it was a place you went to watch the game not shop for t-shirts.
