    I saw Len projected as high as third NBA pick, which would pay just a tad under $4 million/year. He has dropped to 8th which guarantees $2.4 million, so Len's lackadaisical and inconsistent play seems to have cost him $3.2 million in his first two years, so he played himself out of millions of guaranteed money over the two years of guaranteed salary. The clubs have options for extending to year three and four

    It is conceivable that an agent told him he is getting lottery money (which so far it appears that he is though less than he might have had) unless he has an injury, which might be why he does not play hard much of these game, unless he is mad and plays like it in the Duke game here. For a kid from the Ukraine seeing $2.4 million and not getting hurt versus playing hard and increasing the risk of injury and getting nothing to gain another three million might have NOT been worth it to him. There is logic to this thinking process since the advisor is making what 10%, so he has higher odds of getting $240,000 payday versus less and possibly nothing!

  • It's a pretty bold claim to see that our leading scorer, rebounder, and defensive anchor "does not play hard". Do you have evidence that he's giving less than 100%?

  • What this team lacks, Len included, is the mental toughness needed to win on the road. Lets' face it this is a team made up of Frosh and sophs. I don't see any leadership on the team...none.

    It's amazing. It's like he announced before the season that he was the next dominant 7 footer in basketball. Basically he had the misfortune of having a ridiculous game against Kentucky, so now that stupid people who thought he was going to average 20/13 got proven wrong, they decide to blame him instead of blaming themselves for being stupid and unrealistic.

    Watch the games. He has not made any progress through this season, plays inconsistently and is rarely dominant in games. James Padgett, with far less physical attributes, plays hard every minute he is on the floor. I do not see the same effort my Len. An given this team's collective performance using its averages to promote Len as something he is not, falls flat. He played much better this year over last, but his skill set and performance fell far short of expectations. Robert Carter ate him up last night, and Carter is a freshman.

    He will get paid at season's end and good for him, but for an NBA top ten pick, he is an average rental college player. And coming out this year will benefit him, as it is a fairly weak class of mostly freshmen and sophmores.

    He has just two games in ACC play with more than 5 rebounds and has 0 rebounds in 2 of his past 3 games. WHAT HUSTLE!

    True. His best game was his first game and he hasn't posted more than 19 points in a game since. He's gone and will be a top pick. I'm ready to give his minutes to Mitchell and Cleare.

    How about we blame Turgeon for Len's continually inability to block out, be pushed around, keep the ball down low where little guys can steal it, or disappear in too many games...

    Look Len, who will be 20 on 06/16/2013, has shown he CAN play well against named competitors, and if he can do it for three or four games why not 20 more? It is those games were he showed himself to be a player, which causes me to think he takes off against lessor competition and can't get up for important games for his team on the bubble. No, it is the inconsistency which tells the tale

    tag, can you explain how Robert Carter "ate him up"? Carter scored 19 points last night....and precisely TWO of them were when Alex Len was guarding him. And it was a great shot by Carter with pretty solid defense by Len. So let's not make things up, especially after instructing people to watch the games.

    I can't even fathom this statement. This is how sports operate. Sometimes guys have good games, sometimes they don't. On the whole, he's been a) very good and b) our best player. To expect significantly more out of a YOUNG player because he did it a few times is unrealistic.
