OMG I'm, dying.

However, I'm pretty sure we're not allowed contact with kids on campus at events like this (it may depend on what kind of "period" it is). It's still big for recruiting because it enables us to showcase our facilities, but it's especially nice to have local schools play because it shows their players what it's like to be able to play in a big game at Byrd in front of their family. It should hopefully show them that they can play every home game in front of family and friends because it's not too far away.

I don't think a game like this would have been possible without the field turf. The grass got so worn down just between our football games and lacrosse that adding another game or two would have been too much.

It wouldn't, and it was a big reason we added the turf. I'm glad we're reaching out beyond the state finals too. Gonzaga last year, and these showcase games this year. Gotta get the big private schools in. Getting Manatee up here is such an unbelievable coup.
