Turgeon shuffles the Terps' lineup -- again

The Maryland men's basketball team has used seven different starting lineups this season. The Terps could trot out an eighth different look Tuesday against Boston College, according to coach Mark Turgeon.
Center Shaquille Cleare, who has started the past two games against North Carolina and NC State, will come off the bench Tuesday. Taking Cleare out of the starting lineup has more to do with matchups than an indictment of his performance against the Tar Heels, Turgeon said.
“It’s more about who we’re playing," Turgeon said. "Boston College will most likely start four little guys, so we’ll probably start a different lineup on Tuesday. That’s the way we’re preparing.”
My guess: Jake Layman re-enters the starting lineup, alongside Nick Faust, Seth Allen, Dez Wells and Alex Len.

Mitchell is the best at putting up second chance points down low. He seems to go missing at times, but when he's on his game, he's very solid in the paint.

Yeah I'd start Mitchell. I get that this is a matchup thing but their little guys would be mismatched against Mitchell on the inside. Mismatches are a two way street and I'd rather have the big tough PF than be in their shoes.

We should really try and start to form some consistency, and develop our own style of play rather than just trying to adjust and befuddle ourselves to whatever the other team is doing to us.

Yeah, I'm starting to get worried. Did Turge do this at his previous schools?
We have been shitting the bed on offense for three and a half games now. Why doesn't Turge put his actions where his mouth is? We need to worry about us and not matchups. One of our problems is confidence. Switching around roles is not going to help. I get benching Pe' because he was god awful but let's not reinvent the team in the second half of January. Name a starting 5 (ideally, Faust, Seft, Dez, Shaq and Len). Try to help guys get their confidence back by giving them simpler tasks in well defined roles.

It's a silly argument -- not like switching the 4 is going to affect the problems in the backcourt. They need offense and Layman has shown flashes of being able to score in bunches. This seems like a game he can go off.

The problems are not only in the backcourt. The whole team appears shellshocked.
Bring Layman in off the bench to play the three. Let him play 25 minutes there. Don't ask him to take on a new role until we are able to run our offense again.

I agree with this. mitchell is at his best when he's not going against giants. he should control the inside. don't know if we want to match guards for guards
