Assorted notes from Maryland’s 83-81 win over No. 2 Duke on Saturday night, including turnover woes, feeding off the crowd, captain titles revoked and the end of a rivalry.
Stay classy K. What a douche.
I respect Coach K but he is being short sited in his opinion of Marylands decision to leave. Maryland is going to a great conference and they are getting more money in the process and going to a conference with better schools from an academic perspective. We have always been the ugly step child in the ACC and everything is slanted to the North Carolina teams. Soon Florida State and Clemson will leave and they will just be a basketball conference. With this all being said I hope my day that our basketball program is as good as Duke's but we are not there yet. I hope Turgeon decides to stay long term and lock down our home grown talent and then we can be as good as Duke. Great game last night despite the turnovers.
“I have a great deal of respect for Maryland,” Krzyzewski said. “If it was such a rivalry, they’d still be in the ACC."
I think Ratface is a very smart man, but this is one of the dumbest albeit self-serving quotes I've ever seen from a coach in any sport. Does he not comprehend that there are other, more important reasons to move, that far outweigh this "rivalry," when their own fanbase and players deny that there's any rivalry? F you, Ratface.
Maybe the revoking of the captain title is not surprising for Howard after this week, but what did Padge do?
