Yeah, I'd be about as happy with winning the NIT as I would one of those early season tournaments. Maybe less, because winning one of those probably means we picked up a good win or two for our resume. Either way, I just look at it as a chance for our guys to develop more and to get to watch them a few extra games before basketball season is over.

The NIT is a meaningless pile of trash that exists for the sole purpose of having NCAA inventory for ESPN during the NCAAT and to have something to gamble on.
But yeah, totally the same as the Elite 8!

Agreed. Still tons of talent in this tournament. Winning the NIT is IMHO about the equivalent of making the Great 8 in the dance. Gonna be some damn good teams in there.

The last time this might have been true was 1972 and it wasn't true then either as we'd have been champs with decent refs.

This x 1000, winning the nit is not even as good as winning a reg season acc game.
In fact I put winning the nit just ahead of winning our opening exhibition game.
