Just talked to someone that knows him very well and that is very well connected in the university. Here is what I was told:
- He wants to give Edsall at least 3 years. Anderson is sold on the aspect that you can look at his first 3 years at UCONN as the "installation of his system", but if you look at the last 3 years it shows his "success". - I asked if there was anyway Edsall could be fired this year. Answer: "Absolutely not" - Anderson is sold on this season merely being a "transition year" for Edsall. - Leach was "never under serious consideration" from Anderson. There was also negative pressure from above against Leach. I was surprised to hear this because they flew Leach in. - Edsall was Anderson's guy from the very beginning. The only other serious considerations were NFL-level coaches which we had a very low shot at anyway.
Some of this has been said before, but I thought it was noteworthy because I know what this person is telling me is extremely credible due to their position with the university and from their relationship with Anderson. I suppose our only hope is that there is enough external pressure put on Anderson to make a change after next year.
