For those who question why the admin would now support the Locks hire but not the Leach deal, keep in mind the effect ESPN could have had on the Leach deal. I would not find it hard to believe that the top brass at ESPN could have twisted the arms of the UMD admin with veiled threats of retaliation if Leach were hired. No such conflict of interest with Locks. And it appears that the majority of issues with Locks AT NM were later found to be without merit.
