Was in beast mode tonite in the MIAA Championship against MSJ. Think he had 21, but it was how he scored more than the totals that were impressive. Morgan dropped a pair of 3s in the 1st quarter, had a nice alley oop, a one handed slam when he left from the FT line and a very nice "and 1" posterizing of Dayveon Barnes late in garbage time. He also finished a variety of smooth floaters/half hooks in the lane. FT stroke looked good. His intensity was good. This cat would look good in a Terps uniform. At worst, he's James Gist. But his ceiling is quite a bit higher.

Other notes from the game:

Kam Williams was not impressive. He probably had 15-20 points, but most came after the outcome was decided. He got bullied in the first half. I'm going to say that was a good non-offer by Turgeon. He's very thin, and he doesn't have as pure a stroke as I was expecting. Definitely wasn't hitting the 3 ball tonite. But the thing that most turned me off about him is that in the first half when St. Frances was playing really physical, he didn't react well, just didn't seem to compete very hard.

Phil Booth is a bigger, tougher guard who was one of the few MSJ players that I thought tried to match the intensity and physicality of St. Frances. Although he wasn't hitting tonite either, I liked his stroke better than Kam Williams'. Booth gets nice rotation. Also showed some ability to finish in traffic, and there was a lot of traffic in this game. Not the quickest guy, but he's physical enough that he should be an average defender in college. Seemed like a pretty heady player too. He was running PG for MSJ.

Dayveon Barnes is a FR that impressed me with his toughness and ability to finish inside. If he grows to say 6'8" or better, he'll be a beast. I've heard some buzz about Kurk Lee. It's impressive for a freshman to even be in this kind of game, but he's very small. He'll have to grow a bit, but he's got handles. He pounds the ball way too much before getting into anything on offense. But that can be coached. Whereas Booth immediately had his guys in the offense after crossing half court.
