Some wonder if Turgeon would bolt due to issues encountered here, change of conference, etc. My feelings are that he will base any decision on his future, barring Hogie taking the entire AD office out, on this practice facility as a test to see how dedicated Maryland is to supporting a top notch program.
agree. But Turge has done a really good job rallying the top boosters and that bball practice facility is almost as good as being done.
so he would walk away from millions guaranteed based on our practice facility? also what am i missing here, what would a facility give us that we don't already have? Just call the aux gym at comcast our practice facility....this is basketball... you have 12 guys and a few hoops. Yes we need a good weight room, and all of the other support stuff that goes with it. However, the idea that another basketball court makes a difference is a joke. Comcast is just a basketball arena unlike some other schools that use it for volleyball etc.....we have Ritchie, we have the aux gym.......football needs the upgrade first. Also football is going to pay for basketball in the near future, so might as well do things right.
oh like all the Big 10 programs have one
What is a lot? Two or Three?
By every objective measure the donor relationships have never been stronger. For example: Directors Circle contributions at an all time high, Terp Club membership at an all time high, Terp Club contribution $$ average per member at an all time high, MGN within 95% of all time high (had a 50% drop off Ralphs last 2 years) Sweet 16 Basketball Boosters founded and oversubscribed (18 members), Red Coats Football Boosters founded and at 16 members (Goal 22). Super Top 5 all increased their contributions, Beer and wine service added at Comcast Clubs for Top Terps et.al. Lefty situation finally addressed.
Overall satisfaction from Top Boosters at high level.
There are always going to be some dissatisfied booster's, mainly ones who give some but ask for a whole lot more and have seen a new wave of boosters who put their money where their mouth is pass them in the fast lane.
I would take a thousand more awful seasons for one Houston Rockets jumbotron
