La Salle, MTSU and St. Mary's have four Top 50 wins, combined. UVa has six, by itself. Tennessee has three. Maryland has three. UK has four.
I'm okay with the Committee taking every little guy. That's fine. Just admit it and stop saying "who did you beat?" Because you don't care.
A-10 gets five teams into NCAA field. ACC gets four teams. Hard not to laugh, considering UVa had 3X more Top 50 wins than La Salle.
NCAA Selection Committee gets a C for the job it did this year. Too many seeding mistakes, and poor selection logic on Virginia.
Seeding screw-ups include (but not limited to) Pitt, Wisconsin, Oregon, Cal, New Mexico, and Midwest as toughest. All metrics confirm it.
Committee chair says La Salle won at VCU, few teams have Top 20 road win. UVa won at Wisconsin. La Salle drilled at Miami, UVa lost by 4.
Montana, with an SOS of over 300, seeded ahead of Davidson. And, Davidson beat Montana head to head, played a superior schedule. Odd.
If the NCAA let Jay and a few people he picked make the bracket, the world would be a better place.
I got the shotgun. You got the briefcase. It's all in the game though, right?
Wait so Bilas agrees teams like us got shafted?
He is obviously on his way to save us!

Wow. This is NOT roomy!
The Oregon seeding is so bizarre
I like Bobby Knight's idea that there should be retired coaches on the committee as well.
Bilas and a few others fire shots every year. It makes us feel good for a day. Then rinse and repeat next year.
This is easily the worst job of seeding the committee has ever done in my recent memory.
I haven't heard Vitale or Digger, safe to assume they think the committee did a "great job"?
Hearing whoever it was on CBS openly "applaud" MTSU making the tournament made me want to jab my eyes out with a fork

POS Seth Davis.
It was Seth Davis
Oh, right...F U Seth Davis.
I think this. And I know this can be a tiresome refrain because there are people/groups of people that make the same claim every year, but I'm not one of them. At least previous years the committee made a weird call here or there, this is the 1st time in a while where there's this long of a laundry list of weird/bad decisions WRT bubble teams, seeding, etc. Its not so much just about us, its about that 1st stat Bilas tweeted. You just can't keep inviting teams with no/barely any top 50 wins over teams with multiple top 50 wins. Its a bad look. They clearly are not prioritizing the most important factor, which is the shown/proven ability of a team to win games against the best teams in CBB.
Son of Lanny Davis, which explains his ability to be such a terrible person.
Agreed. I'm also not one to bitch about it every year. To me at least, this year induced more than a handful of head-scratching WTF moments in terms of seeding than years past.
bubble and seeding decisions prettty obviously all came down to rpi and ooc sos
It all makes so much sense. No wonder he grew up in the area. Also, does this mean Tag is going to do one of his patented drive-by's defending Seth Davis?
Turgeon: "There was so much talk about the Mountain West all year. A 9-7 team got in from that league. I just think that's the way it works"
@D1scourse It's so easy to see why teams miss when coaches so clearly don't understand how the RPI/SOS work.
@DanWolken Completely agree on that front. There are some coaches who are no longer coaches b/c of that lack of understanding.
@D1scourse @DanWolken That quote is unreal. Yeah, the MWC just gets 9-7 teams in all the time b/c that's how the system is lol
I don't think you can take some total lack of understanding from a quote like that. He's just talking off the cuff to a group of reporters about missing the tournament in general, it's not like he called everyone up there to give them a detailed explanation of why we missed the tournament and cited a MWC team going 9-7 as a principle cause for concern.
Pstevens just called Seth Greenberg the fuck out.
