Still feels really good. After giving it some thought, I am more okay with the rushing of the court than I was yesterday. These students haven't seen a win over a ranked team in 2+ years and the way the game ended called for some sort of celebration.
Also, I think Pe'shon deserves some credit for his performance yesterday. The guy obviously can't shoot, but I thought he played a very solid all around game yesterday. He did a great job defending Wood for the most part, took care of the ball, and even got involved on the boards. His final stat line was 7 pts, 5 rebs, 2 asts, and 2 steals with 0 TO.
Yeah, just a big win. We knew we were going to have a decent quantity of wins this year to get into the tourney. We just didn't know if we'd have the quality. This game was one of our best chances to pick up a resume win. Then when you factor in we are a very young team that needed confidence. Just a huge night for our season.
That's the most important thing, resume wins. We gots none until now. Don't want to end up 22-10 or something and get Seth Greenburged because we beat nobody.
Some thoughts that don't deserve their own thread:
- I think this could be our Cliff Tucker GT moment. Hopefully a turning point for our season.
- If Dez makes that dunk we win by 8-10.
- Our shot selection isn't bad, there just seems to be a lid on the bucket right now, which should change soon.
- Layman is such a sparkplug off the bench and I love how he shows no hesitation taking a big shot.
- Aronhalt is in a bit of a slump right now, would've loved for him to be a zone buster the past few games.
- Pe'shon had two great, clutch drives. His outside shot, however, looks miserable, but he does a great job facilitating. I think some practice time should be given to end-of-clock situations because we look lost when the shot clock is running out.
- LOVED seeing Smot in the middle jumping around after the game. I'm sure its tough having to sit out, knowing you could help. Felt good for the kid to see him involved in the celebration.

Last night, I was pissed the students rushed. My logic was that we're 35-9 against them in the last 20 years. We ALWAYS beat State in pretty much everything. They really aren't good at anything. We're Maryland. They're NC State. They aren't deserving of us rushing anything after beating them.
Today, I'm fine with it. People on this board helped me see that the current crop of students weren't freshman when Comcast Center opened. Their introduction to as students to MD Basketball wasn't the unfurling of a national title banner. Sweet 16s were the floor when I was there. That isn't the case now. Let them rush.
Still feels good to rip NC State's heart out though.
I work with dozens of State fans/grads....it's deathly quiet in the office today
It's a shame we're leaving the ACC because we caught a glimpse last night of how epic the Seth Allen-Tyler Lewis battles would be for years to come. Kudos to Gottfried for landing that McD's AA
I am still very confused why Seth Allen was not in the last 3 or 4 minutes. Needed a shooter badly.
All was pretty good, I think our zone offense was beyond horrendous though.
What happened on that almost over and back between Pe and Wells/Faust? That was on the other side of the floor from me, we seem to have one of those every game.

Great win and I also feel much better about it now than immediately after the game.
But let's hope we don't play like we did after the GT game. If anything, we played worse after that game.
We were already like 18-7 (8-3) and our season turned from from blowing teams out to just barely getting by teams like Clemson and UVa and losing to mediocre teams like GT and MSU in the tournaments.
Edit: I hope that GT 93-94 is a little more comparable for what it represents about our program.
