Any chance we take advantage of this coaching carousel to upgrade our staff? Like go get Tommy Thigpen?
TOS saying Pickett is out as well (along with Makinton Dorleant). I am sure most of you are heartbroken about that.
Not a shock. Brown, Ross and Reid had all passed him on the depth chart and as they get stronger and more experienced I am sure that it will be even more noticeable.
Pic Sigs are for losers.
I figured one of those guys would leave. Glad it wasn't Reid.
Honestly I think Pickett is more of a loss than people think. You can replace his talent, but he's reliable in pass blocking and in the receiving game.
True but I think with a full offseason and spring practice, Reid or Brown will be able to step in and do a good job blocking.
It doesn't surprise me that Dorleant is leaving. Pickett was really the first kid who Edsall brought in, so it does kind of surprise me that he is leaving the Program.
I'd expect Reid and Brown to have to step it up in pass protection next season, and Joe Riddle has had a year to mature in the weight room while red shirting. He might emerge and become a reliable blocking back and find his way onto the field too. It will be crowded, but that is a good situation for the team to be in. Good luck to both of them.

Who would you guys say is our best returning player on defense?
Kilgo is very good also. I expect Andre Monroe to be a huge factor next year and Alex Twine will be one as well.
Damn. Good question. No one player sticks out, but we have about 5 or 6 that could take big steps forward this offseason.
So, I'll say Stefon Diggs.
Thigpen hired by Tennessee today
Top offense in the big 10 our inaugural season...
QB- Cockerille- So
RB- Brown/Reid J
LT Gray -So
RT Madaras -J
WR Diggs J
WR Long -Se (If not in NFL)
WR King/Leak J/Se
Not to mention trio of stud friendship linebackers as sophomores, J. Johnson, Twine, Farrand, and Monroe as seniors and Nixon as a junior....
Flacco to Torrey
Daron Roberts maybe?
I'm actually irrationally excited about next season. Can't wait to see what we look like with an actual quarterback.
I want roberts personally. I feel like he'll come cheap, and he's a solid recruiter within this area. Add him, and it makes Locksley's job that much easier
I don't think it's irrational. The ACC is shit right now. We could compete for the ACC title with FSU next year. Ricardo Young has been in Lock's system for a while now going back to New Mexico. CJ Brown will have a year of learning under his belt. We could be decent and that may be enough in the ACC
I agree, ACC doesnt seem that imposing. Plus having some momentum during the conference shift will help with confidence and the overall image of the program nationally
How unbelievable would it be if we won the ACC in Football and Basketball next year then say fuck off and head to the b1g. I know it's a long shot... especially beating FSU in football, but it would be the best year of my life.
