Gary and Cal are my two childhood heroes and I think this is revisionist history to use a team you used earlier. Gary never took a team with this bad a PG situation to the tourney. People act like this is the Dream Team that Turgeon's is purposely holding back by playing slow. It is an extremely inexperienced team with no PG, little ballhandling ability and freshmen who I think will all be good who just aren't where they need to be right now.
I got the shotgun. You got the briefcase. It's all in the game though, right?

If you think that team was less or way less talented than this year's, I don't know what to say. They also had a top 2 PG in school history. Who's our T-Mo this year? The Turgeon has never won big before, he'll never win big crowd sound a lot like the Gary has never been past the Sweet 16, he never will crowd from a little over a decade ago. And LOL at Sterling Gibbs. Does the "NY Mafia" even watch basketball?

If you're broadcasting a game, tell it the way it really is, but keep your opinions to yourself...!
I don't think goterpss is stating that the 99-00 team was less talented, just that they were inexperienced.
As for an earlier post on this page that Gary never had a team in which 80% of the minutes were taken up by Fr and So... that's not correct. Both the 93-94 and 03-04 teams were that young.
I don't care too much about the comparisons, tho. Gary had teams that underperformed, such as 04-05 and maybe 10-11.
turgeon ran off sterling gibbs and martin breunig! this isn't the class gary left him with!
