I feel better saying this after a win but I honestly am not sure I've ever seen the officiating this bad in the ACC ever.
Literally every single play you see fouls that are not called. This is basketball, not football.
Again, not trying to be sour grapes about this, but it's been HORRIBLE. I'm glad to be going to the Big 10 if this is the kind of officiating we're going to get.
It's horrendous every year. No worse than normal IMO.
Go away, KA!
Yes, but still not as horrific as our offense.
We would have won this game by 6 with decent refereeing.
Pic Sigs are for losers.
Seems worse to me.
In a lot of ways I think we would have won the last 3 games with decent refereeing, to be honest.
We get especially hurt when they don't call the game very physically because we only hit inside shots. We are horrible at jumpshooting (duh).
Me too, honestly. It looks like rugby out there.

Packpride seems to think they got hosed by the refs and that Len should have been fouled out in the 1st half.
apparently traveling and over the back calls work differently for other teams not named Maryland
There were some equally horrendous calls on both sides, IMO. It's the overall officiating that really needs work.
And that's why I don't think there's an ACC conspiracy. If they called it more tight, I think it would benefit us, but it's horrible on both sides.
I just don't know how CJ Leslie doesn't get called for anything
Leslie got the celebrity treatment and we got a few ticky tack fouls. Definitely affected the game, but we left more points on the boards with rimmed out lay-ups
This is one of my pet peeves. Stop complaining, it is what it is. Md played awful and should have handily beat them
I mentioned this earlier when we left the ACC. We aren't going to be granted any favors.
That said, yes, I thought it was decently fair tonight. We didn't help ourselves any more than they tried to stick it to us.
I think there were 4-6 team fouls (between both teams) called in 20 minutes of basketball. Obviously that's not possible so take it and move on. We got lucky, be happy we won. However, we have a game at UNC and we're going to get f-ed...I will bet money on it
or if we hit our layups. Also Wells literally tackled a guy mid air.
But, honestly the foul difference was pretty bad on our home court, but we got away with a lot too. Turge needs to work the refs better though.
I was at the game and so i don't have the benefit of decent replay, but I thought there were at least 4 out of bounds calls that went our way, where I was sure we touched it last. Officiating is bad.
Well, if you go back more than a few years you would have seen worse than this on a consistent basis back in the day - bad enough in BB and FB that the Terps almost took up JoePa's call to join PSU and five others in what would have been the Eastern Athletic Conference (or something like that) in the mid-70s right after we got jobbed out of a possible natty by the zebras from Greensboro.
That said, I think the officiating has been somewhat better the past several years or so, until this year. The single issue that has truly been horrendous is travelling. The FSU game took non-calls to a new level, and NCSU got away with plenty tonight as well. The one call that did go our way was a three-second call on State near the beginning of the first half. I turned around to my friends and asked them if they could recall another three second call against an opponent in the ACC. Not really.
Whatever. Zebras or not, we have to play better on a consistent basis. Lack of a PG is really killing us in ACC play. Hopefully, Roddy will fix that next year.
