South Florida announces home and home series with Wisconsin (2014/17) and Maryland (2014/15)
"I like fixing broken things" - Kevin Plank
Game in 2014 is at USF on September 6th. Could be the first game of the season.
So this replaces the Rutgers game?
Yay hurricane game!
It is the business walk of the biggest, baddest bear in the national park happening upon an abandoned picnic.
While I think USF is fine for a home and home (place where we have alums, like to recruit a bit, etc.), I really would dumb down out OOC schedule for the first 4/5 years in the B1G (with the exception of a $$ game like Texas). Let's get wins and be a regular bowl team before we play any team beyond Eastern Michigan, FIU, etc. While I'm not concerned that the B1G is going to be the NFC East, by any stretch, we need to get wins to gain credibility.
Not to get all hogie, but if we can't beat USF, we should really just fold the program.
All for playing USF. I would just prefer to play them in October or November.
Fine to say that, but we're not talking about Grambling or Norfolk. USF has had some pretty decent teams, including teams that beat or, at least competed with FSU or Miami (forget which
I've watched Rutgers gain a reputation as improving over the last 10 years when, in reality, they were beating a bunch of junior high school teams. As a result, Rutgers is recruiting at a pretty strong level.
Not a bad choice to get us into Florida since we won't have anymore conference games.
Fact, USF in its current state is a much better football program than us.
False, they just canned Skip Holtz after he went 3-9 last year (in a horrific Big East).
the game next year is week 2 of the season
Tampa is a fun town!
Bullshit. You don't watch much college football, do you?
Tar Heel: Maryland term for stepping in Duke
Duke: Maryland term for dog s@#$
There is no way that a middle of the pack Big East team that is 6th in the own state is better than us.
agree, but this seems like a relatively easy road trip.
we know the game time far in advance for early season games, we're playing in an NFL stadium in a major city with plenty of hotel and flight options, and Bern's steakhouse is legendary.
i'm probably in. im sure our fanbase will find plenty of excuses not to make this trip though, because we're Maryland and that's what we do.
Perfectly aged steaks. The largest wine collection in the world. An internationally famous dessert room. Wine cellar and kitchen tours available for all guests.
NYCTerp is now OCTerp
Two things about the game in Tampa. One...it's going to be brutal unless it's a night game. For any of you who were at that lacrosse championship game against UVA, think that.
Secondly....almost no chance this happens, but the Bucs DO play the Ravens at home that season, so there's a 1/17 chance that there's a Maryland/Ravens doubleheader down in Tampa.
USF plays most of their early season home games at night. Of course if it is a tv game all bets are off.
Im almost certain USF plays on weekends that the Bucs are on the road, unless its a midweek game.
Come on down fellow Terps, lots of cool stuff to do in Tampa....
I will be there for sure...
Our fans subscribe to the theory that if you have an excuse, it's just as good as supporting the team/University. It applies to attending events as well as donating back to the UMD.
Need strip club recommendations too

Detroit Hustles Harder
I've heard good things about Tampa and will probably be in
Flacco to Torrey
Bern's is way overrated.
