Does anyone know or did anyone hear mentioned what the two divisions will look like once Maryland and Rutgers join. I know also that by 2014 they could add two more teams to make it 16.
Big Ten said it would be as follows:
Leaders - MD, RU, Indiana, OSU, PSU, Wisconsin Purdue
Legends - NW, Illinois, Michigan, MSU, Nebraska, Iowa, Minnesota
I love it
Since they are sure to add 2 more teams, I wouldn't consider any projections now to be final.
Tar Heel: Maryland term for stepping in Duke
Duke: Maryland term for dog s@#$
A shame they would put PSU in our division but it makes sense for travel. Throwing out the divisions, the natural rivals should be:
MD - PSU
Wisconsin - Minnesota
OSU - Michigan
Illinois - NW
Indiana - Purdue
Iowa - Nebraska
MSU - Rutgers (this one blows)
But I'll take MSU - Terps all day if Rutgers gets PSU
I'd love for us to be in that division, but I'd really like to play Michigan State. They're the only Big Ten team I badly want to beat already.
FYI that's what a regent said the Big Ten told the school so it wasn't confirmed. Makes sense, although there probably will be 2 more schools by 2014 I'd think.

Why would it be a shame? I look forward to kicking their ass every year.
I think they eventually go with a Big Ten East & West Division format.
So I told her come over to MySpace so she could let me play with her Twitter and Google on her Facebook.
If you add Maryland and Rutgers to the Leaders Division and ship any of Northwestern, Illinois or Wisconsin to the Legends Division, that's what you essentially have anyway. That group of three is all so close to an E-W split that none of them would be much of an outlier in one division or the other.
This is me, a full day later, realizing that I apparently have no fucking idea where the state of Michigan is.

I think one of our regents said he had been told that, but it was walked back at some point.
I honestly don't think that there has been a decision made yet. My preference would be for an East and a West division, but apparently the B1G really likes the stupid Legends and Leaders thing.
I don't think we would get MSU. Assuming that the B10 stays at 14 teams (which nobody really knows at this point), we will likely get either NW or Illinois. NW and Illinois were cross-division rivals already, so rather than reorganizing all of the already standing rivalries, I would think they would pair NW and Illinois with MD and Rutgers.
