So Just saw CBS Sports did the first preseason poll for next year. Obviously, rosters change etc...but always fun to discuss.
ACC Teams Ranked:
Notre Dame 19
FSU 26 (guess there was tie)
Michigan State 2
Ohio State 9
The big 10/acc matchup should be fun especially given our circumstance. We will have our work cut out for us given the conference, but lots of chances for big wins too.
Here is The Big Lead (USA Today)
Of note is UCONN being number 17, chance for solid win early in year here.
So much for Providence being a quality game in the OOC tourney
What hack wrote that?
"I expect the Tide to finish 3rd in a much-improved SEC next year, and Grant to be one of the buzzier names in coaching if quality jobs like Texas, NC State, Maryland or Oklahoma State open up. (If you’re a fan of one of those schools, please, spare me the whining. All of those coaches underperformed in 2012-2013. And I’m not saying any will be fired with a bad year.)"
I was about to ask the exact same thing as I was reading through. Does he even come close to realizing the rebuilding job that had to be done? All those freshmen and new players that had to jell. Len turning out to be so soft. No real point guard (a dagger in college). All young players is a tough situation. Calapari struggled and he had a bunch of top 25 talent.
Maryland is going to be a good team regardless of what Alex Len does, unless he decides to take out Dez Wells' knee while going to the NBA. I can't believe Smotrycz isn't getting the usual "best player in practice" like all transfers do to build the preseason hype.
Putting aside the Maryland comment, Texas had the youngest team in the country (no upperclassmen) and got NCAA'd by losing Kabongo for 23 games. Hardly a year set up for great things. OK State finished exactly where they were picked in the Big XII and just had a tough matchup in the first round of the tourney. Strange.
The proof is not in the pudding, The proof of the pudding is in the tasting.
"It's just so hard," Greivis said. "It's my heart, my love. Maryland made me who I am."
"Turgeon has 3 key guys on current roster - Allen, Dez, and Jake - that have not improved." -Orioleterp
