Big Ten Arenas and Stadiums

ACC had some great and not-so great places to watch a game.
Thoughts on our new road trip destinations?
I'll kick it off with the fantastic Williams Arena, home of the Minnesota Golden Gophers. I went to law school at the U. of Minnesota, had season tix all three years in the Clem Haskins era. Great place to watch a game. Similar in many ways to Cole. They call it "The Barn" and it has that 1968 era feel that Cole had.
Elevated playing floor always seemed dangerous but gives it another quirky character thing. I always thought the oddness of the floor and the arena gave the Gophs a major home court advantage.
Don't know if they've changed the seating, but it was benches with paint marks to delineate seats back when I was there.

I've been to every football stadium in the ACC except BC and none of them compare to the two I've been to in the B1G, Michigan and PSU.

The Horseshoe is nice as well. The OSU bar scene is not what it once was though.

I know it's a smaller stadium, but Minnesota's stadium is a great new one. Got the Gophers to move out of the Metrodome into an outdoor stadium. Haven't seen a game there yet, but looking forward to the first Terps visit.

I've been to all of the Big Ten stadiums. The pregame atmospheres at OSU and PSU are awesome. The stadiums of UM, Nebraska, PSU, OSU, and Wisconsin are beautiful.
The fans are amazingly friendly at Nebraska. They're usually mean to me in East Lansing and Columbus, but that's because of the rivalries. I'm sure they're actually nice people deep down.
I look forward to adding Maryland to the list of stadiums I've seen

Don't have high expectations. Skip it for a few years and just come to a basketball game.

Purdue's basketball arena reminded me very much of University Hall at UVA when I went there.
