just a point about the georgwtown lax. we are there big opponent in lacrosse. we are their RPI boost. now they have to fill that slot with a nobody which hurts their NCAA prospects. and good lax games get on ESPN. that is $

People bitching about this move mustve taken a break from bitching about Rangoon blocking the DOB to Vandy transfer. We are Maryland, not some tea and crumpets PC school. If you want to win, change your mindset..They dont award the Capital One cup for good manners. Play the game, massage the NCAA rules and stop giving a fuck about media perception and what other schools think. Im more pissed off by our fans acting like unknowledgeable fairweather asshats than by our AD or coach not doing the (debatable) "right thing".

I'm not so sure. We're the ones who need the payday due to our financial woes. If it was so important to GTown...they would have already settled.

Meh - in a couple years when we have 2 of Duke/ UNC/ Pitt/ Cuse at home every year, this becomes less of a big deal. Plus, with 18 conference games, I wonder if ACC teams look to start cutting down the big home and home's they play OOC. Maryland will still have a Big 10 team, the BB&T, and a early season tournament. Is there even room for Georgetown (unless they take theBB&T spot) on their schedule?

problem is, we don't even sell out our big 10 tourney game or most of our ACC games anymore. plus, turge has hinted we're going to be free from the f***ing BB&T soon.
there is room for a guaranteed sell out game on the schedule.

LOL, I'm sure Georgetown is the only school in the country we can play that would help bring in additional revenue. Georgetown has always had this idea that they're so far superior to us that playing us can only be a losing situation for them. I think Thompson agreed to play us in 1993 because he figured it would be an easy win and shut up the Maryland should play Georgetown crowd. Unfortunately, he didn't clue Joe Smith in on the plan :) There is no reason for this game not to happen unless one side is scared.
I got the shotgun. You got the briefcase. It's all in the game though, right?
