10 years without a Sweet 16 appearance

Since the chances at the tournament this year are pretty much toast (I guess they were a few games ago), even if we somehow make the Sweet 16 next year, we will have gone 10 years between appearances.
And that "if" is realistically a crap shoot at this point, with no point guard and no offensive chemistry. Just a realization I came to today :(

No top 10 poll appearances since 2003. This is a much more accurate indicator of our struggles.

Makes us seem NCStatish when people referred to Maryland as a top 10 program in recent years (although given our struggles, those threads have been few and far between recently)...
Oh well. We'll be back. And the recent struggles will make it that much sweeter when we do.

meh, Sweet 16 is such an arbitrary line to draw though. In the past decade Maryland has had teams that could easily be argued as being top 16 in the nation, they just didn't break through in a single elimination setting.
That said, it's pretty obviously been a rough decade all things considered. I have confidence that Turgeon can get the program back in the shape it was at before.
