I have to say that if Fielder doesn't sign or a deal isn't announced today with the Nationals, I will have to forgo my relationship with The Source. The Source has never let me down and has never been wrong, so we'll see. My apologies in advance if the announcement isn't forthcoming...

From what I've read, I don't think he's signing today and probably not until Thursday at the earliest. Nolan Ryan told the NYT in a piece that ran Sunday that Boras has just been talking in broad terms and hasn't even said what exactly they're looking for. Dan Connolly of the Sun echoed those sentiments last night.
Still think the Nats are the frontrunners, just don't think it's happening today.

I am so ready to be crushed, I was trying to think about what great free agent in his prime has ever come here....and I am going back to the 80s...Wilbur Marshall...that's right..almost 25 years...
and don't give me that Agent Zero sh!t either...

I liked Gilbert, but he was not a big get when he came here...I am talking true superstar, which is something that GIlbert did after getting here....

That's what Olney said this morning. Awfully risky gamble though as the new Dodgers owner won't be selected until February and he may not be interested in Prince. At that point they'll be a week or two out from ST and some of the teams could lose interest.

I believe this is what is going to happen.
Also, I believe the Nationals are not going to be bullied into a bad Fielder contract. They have LaRoche at first for this season, Morse at first for next season. Zimmerman at first for the rest of his career after that with Rendon at third. Lets get the Zimmerman extension done and call it an offseason.
