Nothing official yet, but it sounds like Morse and Ankiel are headed to Bowie with Harrisburg on Thursday to start rehab.
Both could be back from DL either before or at the start of the home stand.

I like Detweiler...when they first came up I liked RD even more than JZ....
...but you have to feel for John Lannan. He's getting optioned almost for no fault of his own. Hopefully he doesn't let it affect his confidence. He's also almost guaranteed to have his free agency pushed from 2013 to 2014 as well.

There is no incremental improvement here. They're either going to go big with 90+ wins or spin their wheels with 80 (or less). I prefer the former, but battered fan syndrome got me scurrrrrred.

I'm wearing my money Nats Majestic warmup from baseballsavings.com (thanks again Hogie) to work today. An Orioles fan in my office looked at it and sneered "ha- Nats!".
I smiled and confirmed that Jake Arrieta was in fact the opening day starter. then I asked him to go through the rest of the rotation. After he fumbled through it, I said "would you say John Lannan would be the #2 starter? (yes). "Oh, because we just optioned him to Syracuse..."

History says this is actually true. Most teams similar to the Nats don't incrementally build up. They usually have a decent year like we did last year and then just blow up out of nowhere.

I really think Lannan would be a good fit for O's. But of course there's really no match. I'd take Reimold in a heartbeat, but it'd take a lot more to get him. Like a lot more. And there's no match for Jones.
Lannan, though, would be a #3-#4 for the Birds and I think he'd do well.

so the same John Lannan that is a career 8-5 with a 3.25 ERA against your Braves in 15 career starts.
