Thunder-Heat Prediction Thread

  • Thunder in 5 as long as Stern doesn't start pulling strings.

This is true. He literally quit in a 2-2 series against Boston in 10 and stood in the corner and played hot potato during large parts of the finals last year. He's been amazing this year.

I think the Thunder win. Last night's effort, for instance, wouldn't have beat OKC, IMO.

He quit in game 6 and had 26-19-10. Further proof that he is the GOAT.

It's a great matchup. Miami clearly has the best trio of this series, but Oklahoma clearly has the best starting 5 and first off the bench. Miami will see what a glaring hole they have in the middle in this series. Can supernintendo Chalmers check Westbrook? If Miami were the home team, they'd win in 7. They're not. OKC in 7.

u/v for use of supernintendo chalmers

im hearing pg plaza is the spot!

  • I hate Lebron as a basketball player because of his clowning around, demeanor, and sometimes lack of sportsmanship. However I understand that some people like him FOR those reasons. I also understand that he's the best player on the planet now and for the next several years. I appreciate the fact that he's never in trouble, doesn't have Cromartie syndrome with having kids, and seems like an overall decent human being. But you can like someone as a person and not as an athlete. I don't want him to die, just not win a championship. And once he wins one (and he will), I won't care as much because it's already over with. Rafa Nadal is one of the greatest tennis players of all time, but I hate him because he clearly only works out his left arm and not his right arm as they're disproportionate to each other. But that's my choice....

Of the hundred reasons to hate Nadal (gamesmanship in particular), I must say this is the weirdest I've ever heard of

  • OKC is dynamic.. they are a much better TEAM than MIA.. Durant, Westbrook, Ibaka, Perkins, Harden >>>> LBJ, Wade, Bosh, the rest

Lol game hasn't even happened yet but if I am wrong it's because the game was rigged. Not because I was wrong.

I want Miami in 7. A nice long drawn out series with tons of stories and OT games.

  • I've got the Thunder in 6.

I'll be happy for either team to win, but more disappointed for the Heat than the Thunder if they lose.

  • Lebron really does not do much for me, like him, hate him, ignore him, whatever, BUT I do hate the Heat intensely. And so I love making fun of Lebron for that reason. Still & all...

I think Durant is better because he is the much better pure shooter. He can score in more ways than LeBron. This is why LeBron struggles in end of game situations while Durant doesn't. Everyone points to LeBron's field goal percentage, but while impressive, it is deceiving. Take away all the dunks and layups and it would be realllllly ugly. Durant gets some of his points that way, but not nearly as many. When the game is on the line, LeBron is too often lured into chucking up a jump shot or passing the ball to a teammate. Durant has the ability to drive and score or knock down a shot from anywhere on the court, making him much more difficult to guard and stop.

Yea, well if you take away all of Durant's made baskets, his shooting percentage is 0!

    Take that!

Yeah LeBron comes off as pretty fake/manufactured/wants everyone to like him, but I find it odd that most of his haters love guys who are borderline terrible people. I guess it's better to be a real asshole than a seemingly pretty good guy who tries too hard to be liked?

MJ & Kobe aren't borderline terrible people. They are terrible people.
    Incredible basketball players though.

    So many pathetic haters.

I don't really care one way or the other about Lebron, but until he wins at least 7 titles he's brought this all on himself. No one else to blame.

And don't forget Wade's quote afte they lost last year, "the world can be happy the Miami Heat have lost." If you win you shut everyone up.

  • Thunder in 5. To much talent top to bottom on the team.

    Pic Sigs are for losers.

  • The only way the heat have a chance is if Lebron averages 40-10-10. Wade has played like ass except for that one Indiana game.

  • this isn't going to be the finals thread is it?

    screamin_jay

  • anyways thunder in 7

    Hot Sauce

  • Thunder is 5. Lebron disappears in the 4th qtr. Durant shines and Harden is the difference maker. Wade wins one in South Beach by himself. At least I hope that is what happens pray

So far I like my Westbrook will dominate prediction to this thread. I don't like my it will take the Thunder 6 games to win prediction. If the Heat's scrubs make all those 3's again maybe it will be a series. I don't see that happening again. I also doubt Harden is a non factor again.

  • Anyone taking anything past the Thunder in 6 games has to be really second guessing themselves after last night. Miami's role players played out of their mind, Harden was awful and OKC couldn't throw the ball in the ocean in the first half and they absolutely steamrolled the Heat in the second half.

    charmcity3131

  • Only thing missing from last nights game was the "good job, good effort" kid in the tunnel. Aside from that, it was a perfect start to the finals (for me anyways) woot

    feartheturtle02

  • Would have said Thunder in 6 so I'll stick with that, although if OKC can get Harden more involved, Miami will be lucky to go 6

    GimmeTheShimmy

  • I thought Thunder in 6 but Miami's role players will not have another game like that and even though OKC was down most of the game there was no real feeling they would lose. If it wasn't for the stupid 2-3-2 format I would switch to OKC in 5.
