Texas A&M fans

    Alabama isn't. LSU isn't. Texas isn't.

Texas A&M is. Those people are weirdos.

Actually, Alabama fans are very much like A&M fans in this aspect. How many games have you been to where you've come into contact with each fan base. I've personally tailgated, gone to games with or otherwise met up with LSU, Alabama, USC, Georgia, A&M, Texas, Tennessee, Clemson fans and on. By far, the two fan bases that are the most fun to hang around with are A&M and Clemson.

Where does Michigan fit into this?

I'm going there for grad school next year and need to know if I'll be expected to join a cult.

Hmmm...things people easily influenced by a cult would say

Awesomeness and not at all a cult. Just like being in one big filthy rich family.

  • Howdy

Many incoming students at Texas A&M choose to attend the campus because they feel that the students are friendlier than those at other universities. This perception is created partly by the Aggie tradition "Howdy", the official greeting of Texas A&M University. Students are encouraged to greet everyone they pass on campus with a smile and a howdy. Howdy is the preferred method for a speaker to get a large group's attention, as the members of the group are expected to return the "Howdy" back to the speaker.

    WTF

OK, Nestor Negativity, we get it. Civility and hospitality is way uncool. What type of fan base would take pride in their school, town and traditions? Simpletons.

  • How is Howdy more lame than piling a bunch of trash on testudo for good luck on exams? When people diss the Rock or the Hill, I literally don't care with one cell in my body. I think A&M fans feel similar about peoples' disdain for their traditions

So if I said "Howdy" to someone in CP, A&M would try to sue me? panic

Why are you guys being mean to the Howdies??!!! Simply being a tradition doesn't absolve something of being dumb.

Spent a lot of time tailgating and going to games there in the late 90s. Great atmosphere and great fans without being cultlike.

Auburn fans are really cool, too. I've never thought about your theory but it seems good.

This thread is a HOF contest to see if Hogie can be more stupid than DGF. coffee

  • Every time I've gone to Clemson for a game, I've been offered free food and booze by countless tailgaters. They really are awesome.

  • I know it's different when Bama and UF are in town but getting hammered and scoring strange in Auburn and Tally is a great tradition

Yea I'm pretty pissed at EAM for trolling this thread way off topic.

  • Who really wants to be associated with the "12th man" anyways? Do you guys even know its origins? Basically, back in the early 1900's, A&M had to pull a fan out of the stands to suit up for their football team to make sure they had enough players to finish the game. The guy never played. Sure, you can buy into the bullshit they try to sell that the "12th man" symbolizes the lengths the fans are prepared to go to, but not me. To me, it's a reminder that their football program was in such bad shape that they had to pull some random bum out of the stands to play for them. If they want to be reminded of that mediocrity, more power to them, but why any other team would want to hijack that tradition is beyond me.

Check the list, bro. I trolled first.

Yeah RawDogg, Auburn fans weren't bad. The War Damn Eagle got a little tiresome but they were good people.

Take it easy on Hogie. His only frame of reference for other fan bases is what he reads on message boards. These mythical creatures known as sports fans are as real to him as unicorns, the Easter Bunny or vaginas.

You don't consider 1922 the early 1900's? Then you fit the Aggie stereotype of being stupid, too.
