Yup, both my girlfriend and I. The AODC contingent is HUGE (40+ on the first plane alone), so we're hoping to have the second plane leave from DC instead of Houston and be the "East Coast plane".

This would be amazing. It would save quite a bit of money getting to Houston and back. I knew some of the AODC contingent was going, didn't realize it was that many though.

I'm working on getting a couple others to commit, hopefully there are enough in the end to get either the second or third planes to depart from DC.

We're the largest AO chapter, so the sheer numbers are in our favor.

If you do let me know, I may be interested in hopping on that waitlist

They are already taking names for the waitlist, so if you wanna join just sign up. There will be at least a few people you know on the trip.

The waitlist for the second plane filled up in like two days, so don't dawdle if you really want to go. We won't know about if we can get a plane to leave from DC for a while, maybe not even until 2014, so make the decision based on the idea that the plane will leave from Houston.

                          • Boyd honestly shouldn't be there. I'm excited by his potential, but he hasn't even played a first team professional match yet. It's hard to take Jurgen seriously when he makes an inclusion like this (especially with yet another German-American), but talks constantly about players needing to play in competitive leagues to get considered.

Eh, I don't mind capping a young guy on the brink of playing for the German champs. Especially when the alternative is another call for Chris Wondolowski or some other donkey.

Valid opinion, but (and I can't believe I'm going to use this guy of all people as an example) what has Boyd done to EARN a call over someone like Charlie Davies? He's seeing minutes in a top 5 league, has a track record of scoring goals for club and country, and is already in Europe too. I don't think CD should be with the Nats yet, but I think he has a much better case than "well he might get to play for a good team soon!". It's not fucking 1997 anymore.

Charlie has seen 12 minutes at Sochaux. Anyway I never bought into the "earning" of a spot on the senior team. I also think club performance as an indicator of potential USMNT performance doesn't always work.

Take one Mr. Fredua Adu. Playing in the Turkish second division and making the GC roster, and promptly saving our asses against Panama and being easily our best player against Mexico in the final. Or the opposite. Guys like Wondo or Twellman who could score at will in MLS (a league I rate, of course, and one miles above the Turkish second division!) and yet be useless at the national level.

All that said, I'd rather see Boyd with the U23s, where he'll be playing a lot these next few months. But I can't argue with seeing what he can do with the big boys.

I also don't see any problem with getting a guy who isn't cap-tied used to the full national team set-up. Being around guys like Jones, Chandler, Williams and Fabian Johnson can only be a good thing.

Thought he showed surprisingly good pace. I have no idea what it was supposed to be but he turned and ran well and had provided great cover at times.

Wasn't challenged much in the air which is something I really wanted to see but he definitely made a solid impression.
