Only Orioles/Braves memory I actually have is going on a trip to Atlanta in 99 for the Friday/Saturday games of the series with a large group (think from a local church). My dad and I were, I think, the only people pulling for the Orioles. O's won on Friday night 6-2 (Ponson outdueled Maddux) and on Saturday 5-0. Braves fans were complaining about how bad they had played during the trip home.
Then, on Sunday night was the 22-1 beatdown. My dad called up other guys to say "at least we saw the Braves play well." Of course the Orioles went on to finish 4th while the Braves won their millionth consecutive division title.

Carrying this over from the end of the Pirates thread, where THM said he'd give Reynolds one last shot at 3B-
I think he's looked more and more comfortable at 1B the more he has played there and he's made a couple really nice plays the last two nights. But I think he almost certainly will be playing 3B this weekend. They have to keep his bat and Davis's bat in the line-up while they are in NL parks.
I'm a little scared of a defense that has Reynolds back at 3B and Wilson Betemit in LF, but I think you might see that tonight.

Hanson has won two straight starts, and has given up 2 ER or less in 6 of his last 7 starts. That includes wins vs. the Rays and Blue Jays.
On the other hand, he has allowed 5 HRs in his last 3 starts after only allowing 5 total in his first 10 starts.

One thing I like about having Matusz and Chen pitch against Atlanta is that McCann, Freeman, Bourn and Heyward are all left-handed hitters.

Heyward .899/.561
Prado/Jones/Uggla have CRUSHED LHP, though.
vs. RHP/LHP

The team, as a whole, actually has a slightly higher OPS vs. LHP than RHP (.733 vs. .727)

As for Soriano, he is still a productive run-producer who could thrive in the American League as a DH. The Cubs are going to have to pay most of the $48 million still owed on Soriano's deal that runs through 2014. Both Soriano and the Cubs would be best served if a deal can be consummated. Epstein and Hoyer spent the entire winter meetings in Dallas last December trying to peddle the left fielder to no avail.
The Baltimore Orioles had one of their top talent evaluators watching Cubs starting pitchers and Soriano on Wednesday night. Toronto, which is also watching the Cubs this week, could be looking for a bundle deal that might include pitchers and hitters.
Matt Garza started for the Cubs Wednesday night.

If you are the traveling type it appears as though there are an abundance of tickets for the series. The Braves use the same ticketing technology as the Orioles. Turner Field is not on anyone's 'must see' list I suppose, although they left the spot where Aaron homered in Atlanta Fulton County intact in the parking lot
