it's incredible how much this board overvalues prospects. you guys would get absolutely fleeced as GMs. of course you trade schoop for headley straight up. is that even debatable? headley is a well-above average player under club control for 2.5 more seasons. how many wins would we have this year with headley at third instead of the turds we've run out there? top 100 prospects are much more likely to be busts than successful (jsh already showed that). headley was a 5 win player 2 seasons ago and is at 3.5 WAR in 2012. he would be an incredible upgrade. and how is 10 HRs in 93 games "absolutely no power."
also- LOL at counting on Hardy in 2014, not to mention pencilling in schoop there too. count me in the sell high group for schoop. i know pitchers are different but can you imagine the types of major league ready players we would have right now if we had dealt two of matusz/tillman/arrieta/britton at their peak?

It's a delicate balancing act between prospects and proven players, but you also have to take into account that younger players cost less, are under club control for longer and have all of their potential prime left in front of them. I understand the concern that Schoop is a bust, but he looks like a promising player and fills a need.

I'm fine giving up more prospects as well, very little in this system I'd regret losing.
