i had this on in the background today and just heard that he was talking about twitter and assumed he was finally joining......guess not.

At least when Mad dog was with him, SOMEONE was there to call him out once in a while. He is impossible to listen to alone. Every show on that station gets unreal ratings because its a sports show in a great sports market. If ESPN radio was not so damn awful, they might have a chance at a few listeners.

Francesa is a ridiculous buffoon, but I love listening to him. Hard to explain, really.

I cannot stand Fatcesa. He does some really good interviews but outside of that it is impossible for me to listen to him.

This is basically the way everyone up here feels. He's arrogant and incredibly behind the times. He'll never embrace any advanced baseball statistics even though baseball is #1 in NYC and he talks more baseball than any other sport over the course of the year. In the past 2 weeks, on days following huge Rangers wins, he opened shows with Junior Seau and Angels baseball. Part of his charm is that he doesn't give a shit. He'll spend 2 hours talking Mickey Mantle during Super Bowl week. Whether its him ranting about something like twitter or getting into it with callers, its always entertaining radio. Turn on ESPN radio and its 2 local morons discussing whether the Knicks should hire Woodson, Calipari or Phil Jackson. If not that, its 2 national guys talking boring NFL stuff in April. The only people that hate him are people that can't handle a little trolling. He refuses to give the Jets any credit even in a playoff year where they won @ INDY and @ NE. Jets fans were livid. I'm a Jets fan and thought it was hilarious.

And then there's stuff like this. The night after Albequerque pitched in the late innings of a Yankee playoff game:

I hope Mike invites that dick bag Rovell on just to crush him in his own special way. Ya know, that "I am clueless on a subject but I will talk loudly and talk over you and make no sense" kind if way.

He doesn't know anything about a lot of stuff he talks about. College sports, for instance.

He is insufferable to listen too. How does anybody like him? Ive heard his show like 3 times and its so apparent that he knows very little. The worst part is that he thinks hes gods gift. Hes right there with Chad Dukes in the HOF for worst radio guys.

Francesa's act is definitely high comedy. He has a ton of issues that have already been mentioned but at least he's entertaining and I'd always side with him over a dbag like Darren Rovell. He wasn't all that different during his CBS studio days back in the early 90s although he wasn't able to just talk over everyone. Still opinionated and insufferable though. I can remember Rex Walters mocking his physique and telling him to go eat a doughnut after Francesa incorrrectly picked Ball State to upset KU in the first round of the tourney.
