  • Burfict is not someone I would want my team to draft. Great athlete though.

  • Not sure if someone posted this earlier, but WTF Bruce? We signed another TE to roster along with a OL... The OL, Jonathan Compas I understand. But we had 4 TE before, and 3 is more than enough. Fred Davis should be on most plays with a TE, and Logan is better than people think. Even after them, we have Mike Sellers who can play as a TE if one of them gets hurt during the game.

I would have liked to seen the skins sign a QB for a few weeks at least (which I said before), or maybe even a CB for a while to send a message that we aren't pleased with how the DBs have been playing recently.

look at the "great quarterbacks", they have all day to pass.... Brady has 5+ seconds to pass

I just saw a TV segment a week or two ago that illustrated that all the great QBs (Brady, Rogers, Brees) get rid of the ball in 3 seconds or less. Most of us know how fast Manning has been getting rid of the ball throughout this career.

I've been one of those 'OL comes first' guys for a while. I'm now seeing the light. However, I still believe OL should be the top priority immediately after acquiring a potential franchise QB that can find the open guy in 3 seconds or under.

  • I'm an OL guy too but IMO they need a QB first (duh) and then they need to somehow get some playmakers on the outside. The OL is hardly great but they have more pressing issues. But then again with a full draft plus a few extra picks from JC and McNabb there's no reason why they can't draft a few OL for a change.

  • I keep telling Redskin fans that the best hope for this franchise is to see the Colts get the first pick and to hope the Skins get as low of a pick as possible. Will also be very interested in USC/Stanford this weekend as Barkley really looks to be improving his stock in recent weeks.

  • Exactly. Peyton Manning will be a HUGE douche behind the scenes if they try to draft Luck.

  • The Colts will also not want to deal Luck to an AFC team either I am sure.

The owner will make the pick for the next 12 years...look at gb with Aaron Rodgers, set until 2020

  • I wonder whether we'd have enough pieces after trading up for Luck to be good.. Pretty much have no high picks for next couple years, and O-line and WR still not in good shape. We'd have to hit the FA nail on the head next 2 or 3 offseasons to compensate for the lack of young talent we'd be getting from draft

he's the Sean Taylor of LB's, I'd love him but I'm biased

You could always include a Landry or someone else to try to keep some (one) of the draft picks.

I think that would be ideal situation, to include a veteran if the colts win this, since they'd be committing to manning and winning now essentially. I think Landry would be hard to give up, but I would definitely do it if it meant only losing one 1st rounder, the 2012 pick.

Maybe Landry, 2012 1st, 2012 2nd/3rd, 2013 4th would be enough. Not bad IMO, lose a player who isn't reaching his potential here and 3 picks for franchise QB

  • How about:

    Indy/St Louis trades
    2012 #1pick overall

    Skins trades
    2012 #11 pick overall
    2012 2nd round
    2012 4th (from Raiders)
    2013 1st round
    2013 3rd round
    2014 2nd round

    It might take that...

  • Its going to be impossible to get from Miami. They will need Luck to lure whatever big time coach they covet. Stl and Indy will be possible though. I have no doubt Snyder and Shanny are going to try to do whatever possible to get him with Landry Jones as the backup plan. Seattle will probably be gunning for Barkley.

  • Some Redskins blog today wrote a lengthy piece about this and tried to find untradeables on our roster. It was interesting.

Basically, he said the only two untouchables we have are Ryan Kerrigan and Jarvis Jenkins.

The rationale was interesting and I didn't completely disagree with it. Jenkins is untradeable at this point anyway with his injury. If we dangled him, teams would just assume his injury is bad and would be suspicious of that. I personally think Kerrigan is more untradeable than Orakpo, too. I don't think they'd trade Orakpo, but if I had to keep one OLB it would be Kerrigan since he can play the run better and forces a lot more turnovers.

    ugotwilcoxed

  • There's no such thing as untradeable. If the Colts or Rams want Orakpo and Kerrigan for Luck, goodbye!

I agree. St. Louis has to deal the pick or Bradford. I'd prefer the pick but would be happy with Bradford. Wonder which holds more value? On the one hand you have a semi-proven player who has 2 years of experience, on the other the best prospect since Elway or whatever.

Bradford will never be fully healthy. He's already damaged goods.

  • bradfords contract was 60 mil and luck's will be 22

i'd guess anyone looking for a qb will be happier drafting one with the new salary structure

  • Seems like based on the posts lately, we're giving up on 2011?

If we can take care of business tomorrow on defense, we can win. Not saying that will help us long term, but I'm not expecting guys like Fletcher, Carriker, or Kerrigan to back down tomorrow.

Also, just a reminder that tomorrow's game is at 4... why two teams in Eastern Zone would be at 4, i don't know.

Of course. This season never had a chance to begin with. We just effed it up by winning early.

No chance our D even slows down Fred Jackson.
