  • Harbaugh is a horrible evaluator of assistants. I also blame him for the NE loss..

  • uninspired, they didnt even look outside the organization

  • why the fuck is rosberg stil here? our kickoff coverage was ranked 31st, punt return, coverage ranked 23rd and our return game was pretty average. and oh yeah, in the biggest stage they couldn't even get their kicker on the field in time

    omterps13

  • I belive Rosburg and Harbaugh started out together as college grad assistants and worked together quite a lot.

So yeah, I don't think Harbaugh's going to fire his friend of 25 years.

Besides that he was pretty good.

that's harbaugh's problem. he always has some connection with these guys and is afraid to fire him. mattison woulda been here til he died had he not taken the michigan job. at some point bisciotti has to step in

doesnt harbaugh have some connection with cameron too?

    omterps13

  • well, so much for any optimism i had for next season

Pretty sure Cameron was Jim's qb coach at Michigan, and the families have been good friends ever since.

I agree. Also now we can't see Flacco without Cam so it's harder to make the right decision on what kind of contract to offer him.

  • LOL, we never never learn our lesson. Let's throw another year of the great careers of Ray Lewis and Ed Reed down the tubes, and for that matter several of our other top players like Rice, Flacco, Suggs, Ngata, etc. Whether it's Cam's fault or not, the offense did not improve this year. He called a good game in New England, but so what? Had he done that against Seattle or Jacksonville, we wouldn't have been on the road again and we would have been in the Super Bowl.

Sounds like a) Peyton is on his way out of Indy and b) the Steelers want to commit more to the run on offense. If Manning ends up in the NFC I think both of those changes are good for the Ravens in 2012.

I'll root for Peyton wherever he goes (not against the Colts), but I really think its less than 50/50 he's able to play. It will take a miracle for him to play in Indy, but from what people are saying, its not just rehabbing strength and getting the muscle back in playing shape, he's still having significant nerve issues and waiting for regeneration. It just seems very bad to me.

Yeah, I was kind of banking on that. The only thing that took some of the sting out of that loss was knowing Cam would be gone finally. Now I'm swearing off football forever.

(until around draft time when I start getting excited again)

Possibly even more importantly - Rosberg is back?!?!?

  • A win in the Seattle game still would've given us the 2 seed due to conference record. But yea, the Jacksonville game killed us

    omterps13

  • The play calling in Seattle could have been better, but I still put that loss primarily on a KR who was turning over the ball like someone handing out Halloween candy.

  • Fuck this franchise (errr, Head Coach?) for putting personal loyalty above results. Never going to win a Super Bowl with this guy. He is just using his position to help his friends.

    Flops

  • If we don't win it next year and we have the same problems Harbaugh needs to go. Playoffs are great but I'd rather go to the playoffs once every other year and win the superbowl once every few times than get to the playoffs and fail repeatedly.

What's your time frame for winning a super bowl "once every few times"? Is that every 5 years? Every 10 years?

  • Harbs is a very loyal guy. I would argue too loyal. Most of us wouldnt have given Cundiff the rope he received this season. And on job performance alone neither Cameron or Rosburg should be retained.

Yup, less playoff appearances will definitely increase our chances of winning the Super Bowl.

I got the shotgun. You got the briefcase. It's all in the game though, right?

  • You guys need to lay off Harbs. I find his flaws as frustrating as anyone, but he's not to blame here. Loyalty is very important at that level. I love the fact Harbs creates a very fan friendly atmosphere, its like rooting for a college team. He always talks about the fans and city. I wanted Cam but ultimately that decision lies with Ozzie and Bischotti, not Harbs.

  • I can be mystified by Cameron's calls at times. But I must confess that a small part of me thinks that Flacco and he are figuring one another out and that they've got a good pulse for how to go after the Steelers.

I know this is just a small consolation to a tough end and a seemingly 'backwards' resolution to our coordinator positions, but it was a feeling I had today.

    indianajones4

  • keeping rosburg is worse than keeping cam.

just bring in a qb coach (hue) and if things start going bad next year, cam is done during the season

    omterps13

  • Harbaugh in 4 years has been more successful than Billick in 9.
