  • So China is absolutely CRUSHING the paralympics...any doubt they purposefully injure second-tier athletes and then train them for eight hours a day?

They have 231 medals, next closest is Great Britain with 120. China has 95 goals, United States has 95 medals.

At least the girl my sister grew up with got 3 golds and a bronze shrug

I've never paid any attention at all to the paralympics, but how many events do they have? Those are absurd medal numbers.

  • I read somewhere that they give out 11 just in the 50 free. You have different classes of paralympian (vision impaired, single amputee, double amputee, etc) and each of those classes has tons of degrees of impairment.

  • I was switching around between that and soccer for the women's rebroadcast (which probably had my most favorite moments) and I'm going to bed now, but they just showed Adrian winning the 100m free and I forgot just how great of a race it was.

If they did this every summer I'd be completely locked in.

  • Hard to believe the opening was almost three months ago. :-(

My roommates were just about ready to stage an intervention by the end of the Olympics, so I'll probably only watch these rebroadcasts when they're not home.
