I don't think the fanbase has ever really fallen in love with Harbs, but I think most generally think he is fine.

Agree with this statement. I think the lack of love comes from having Cameron as the offensive coordinator.

I can't believe people on here actually like Harbaugh. He is a total tool, and I thought he was generally disliked by the entire fanbase. The press conference last night was bizarre. I do give him props for the challenge, I thought we had no chance. He needs to do a better job of making sure we are ready to play against the weaker teams the rest of the way.

    What?

    I mean...

    what?

  • I hate coaches that lead my teams to the playoffs every year. Its too bad Jason Garrett turned us down, he is a real budding superstar head coach.

I don't know what you mean, but it had the cadence of a joke.

  • Harbaugh can be a goofball at times, but you can't really argue with the results.

And IIRC, the loss to Tenn and Jax this year were the first times that a Harbaugh-led Ravens team had lost to a team with a losing record when we played them (remember that stat getting thrown around after the Tenn loss). So bitching about him needing to do a better job against the weaker teams is just stupid.

He's also 6 for 7 on challenges this year, so whoever is up in the booth telling him what to do is doing great. He also looks to have made a great call in going with Pagano at DC.

And in general, hating on the head coach that wins about 70% of his regular season games and has won 4 playoff games in three years is the epitome of "sports talk radio stupid"

So no shock that Declueless is the guy that thinks that.

    That sounds terrible.

  • I'll use this thread as my place to say that Toogs can suck a big bag of dicks for not letting us be assholes about our big win last night.

Could you imagine if the Deadskins beat his Cowboys in dramatic fashion and he locked Skins threads that he just didn't like? This board would assplode.

  • Well, last night was a huge step. Those guys on the other side will be back. Macro-view, I just hope we can keep staying healthy, and winning the games we're supposed to. We've got a shot place ourselves in a nice spot come January. But the road is long.

toogs acts like a 5 year old child when the ravens play big games. i think we would be jealous too if we rooted for a bunch of gutless bitches with no heart.

It's so weird that you're making a post about someone being a tool who is generally disliked and it's not about yourself.

I got the shotgun. You got the briefcase. It's all in the game though, right?

Wow, there's so much wrong in this.

    1-He's a total tool.

Really? Who thinks that (other than coaches of teams he has beaten). He's a competitive guy who gets a little carried away at times, but to call him a total tool is LOL stupid.

2-He is generally disliked by the entire fanbase.

I'm part of the fanbase and I don't dislike him, so you are wrong already.

3-The press conference last night was bizarre.

He quoted one of our greatest presidents. I'd hardly call that bizarre.

4-He needs to do a better job of making sure we are ready to play against the weaker teams.

Perhaps, but at the end of the day, the execution and performance is on the players. It wasn't Harbaugh that didn't get a pass rush in Tennessee and it wasn't Harbaugh who couldn't get open against the Jacksonville secondary.

  • I shouldn't even justify her with a post, but when asked who the best team in the AFC is, Jemele Hill on First Take just made a hilariously retarded argument for the Texans. Said "They've beaten the Steelers!" as her prime justification, then took a shot at the Ravens losing to the Jags.
Somehow she failed to mention what happened in week 6, and no one called her on it. When asked by Woodson who she would take in a Ravens - Texans playoff game, she said "Texans, no question." Lol. She's such an awful human being.

  • That's what you get for watching/listening/reading/responding/thinking about Jemele Hill. And by extension, ESPN.

He's been inconsistent this year, but he's had comebacks, on the road, against quality teams. He beat the Steeler defense last year at Heinz. He led a 2 minute drive to take a late lead in Atlanta (best record in the NFC) last year that the defense blew. He took the team down to makeable FG range in Minny (2nd best record in NFC) in 2009 but Hauschka blew the kick. He had a ball in the end zone bounce off Mason's facemask late in the 2009 game at Heinz, a game the Ravens lost by 3.

Like I said, he's been inconsistent this year, but I don't think he would have quite the "unclutch" rep with a little additional help from his friends over the years.

After last night's game the NFL Network crowd was asked who's the best team in the AFC North and Deion said it's still the Steelers. huh

Almost correct. He lost to the 0-1 Bengals, the 0-1 Titans and the 1-5 Jaguars. So he's lost to 3 teams with losing records, in 3.5 years, and 2 of those teams were 0-1. Yeah I'd really say that our biggest problme has been our inability to beat weak teams...

At least you and I agree on something.

    ravensnterps

  • I was just working off my memory of what people were saying post-Tennessee game this year, so not surprised I was wrong. Close though.

BTW, Joe also had a game winning FG drive in the last 2 minutes of a road playoff game. @ Tennessee in the Ravens Steal Jeff Fisher's Soul, Vol. 2.

I find this win particularly impressive for Flacco. While it's only week 9, this game had week 14 intensity and importance (IMO). He really stepped up and led and was clutch, and even a bit fiery. The Ravens are looking good if they can avoid trap games like the potential one next week.

    Note: I'm a Redskins fan.

So while I agree that show is generally pretty stupid. I don't have a problem with someone making an argument for the Texans. Do I think they're the best? Not really. But I think they're pretty legit. I wouldn't be shocked if they find themselves at 12-4/11-5 and in the thick of it for that 2 seed.

That's a stretch, but I really do think they're good.
