They chose to draft Rivers 2 years (3 if you count the year he sat) into Brees's career. In his 3rd year as a starter he blew up. He had 2 very strong years in San Diego after that awful 2003 season. So I don't see your point. Cam was there for 2004 and 2005, too, as well as Phillip Rivers first season as a starter in 2006 which was pretty damn good for a guy starting for the first time. And if you try to argue that he took off because Cam left I might vomit.

what i will say about josh freeman is this: what he's done for the bucs is more impressive than what flacco's done for the ravens. that's no dig on flacco, but the bucs were looking like an all time bad team going into last year. flacco landed in the sweetest possible spot for a rookie QB.

i like flacco better than freeman, but freeman isn't terrible or anything. they're in the same grouping, as previously discussed.

Also, Ayanbadejo not fined and the Ravens were told he should not have been ejected, per the Sun. If the NFL were to admit Pollard's hit was clean they would essentially be saying the refs blew two major calls on that single drive.

My last comment on the Pollard hit, then I'm done with it, it didn't cost the Ravens the game. I'm just kind of stunned that that's an illegal hit. Someone explain to me the difference between that hit and Ray Lewis's hit on Keller last year. Or should Ray-Ray have been $10,000 lighter in the wallet as well?
