So, I was unable to watch the game, as, well, I had to work. How did Arsenal look? From what I can tell (from the stat tracker and the above comments), they seemed to play really well in the first half. The second half, not as much.

I just finished watching on DVR. Is it too much to ask for Fox Soccer to match up the stadium sound with the video feed? I had hoped they'd finally get that fixed over the offseason. It seems far worse for UCL games than for EPL games.

I don't know this for sure, but I'm about 99% sure they get their feed direct from UEFA and just superimpose their logo on it. Plenty of things to bitch at FSC for, but I don't think this is one of them.

If so, then obviously it's not Fox's fault, but it's still insanely annoying. You can frequently tell when a goal is scored a full second before the ball actually hits the back of the net because of the crowd noise.

Had a friend that use to work at Foxsoccer, the way I understand it, they get there audio and video from two seperate sources. The video is the generic UEFA video with the nat sound(crowd noise and such) that everybody else watches across the world and the audio is the Sky sports feed from England. There is a delay in sending the HD video from Europe to LA while the audio is not delayed so you acually get the weird situation of having the video with the nat sound not matching the commentary. And I agree its highly annoying but better than having people in LA doing the play by play.

Rosicky as your AM is LOL bad. Seriously, could we see Wenger give the reigns to Wilshere at any point? He's too dynamic to be playing so deep in the midfield.
Either way, there's so much talent out there - give Wenger the axe if he doesn't pick anyone up.

Play-Offs First Leg, Day 2:
Wisła Kraków - APOEL
Dinamo Zagreb - Malmö FF
Odense - Villareal
Bayern Munich - Zurich
and...
Maccabi Haifa - Genk
sucks that Haifa drew the one unseeded team I was scared of. Genk's coefficient is in the 8s, but obviously they are way better than that.
Villareal & Bayern should each win by a couple of goals. Malmö shocked Rangers, would be insane if they end up playing Champions League this year.
How amazing would it be for a Barcelona, Milan, Manchester City, Malmö grouping. If Arsenal and Bayern both progress, the first three have a chance of being paired together.

What am I missing about Mario Gomez? He is terrible. Apparently he scores goals, but damned if I've ever seen him do a damn thing. Had several muffs already in this game.

I predict bad things for Arsenal in Italy. That Udinese team did not have it's legs.

i think gomez is absolutely terrible. he needs perfect service or else he is useless.
