Nationals vs Giants thread

  • Nats and Yankees are the only teams in baseball with 32 or fewer losses.

  • Pretty damn exciting to be there tonight, lots of mouthy Giants fans all around early in the game.

Reallly hoping they move the Saturday start back from 4:05. My usher was telling me there's some big thing with the team and season ticket holders on the field starting early in the afternoon. That should be nice and cool.

Where are we going to hold the Nationals World Series parade? Pennsylvania Ave might be a good site, but they I think they should close down every street from the Mall to Pennsylvania Ave. Maybe 1 Million fans will show up.

you never know, lol. That'd sure be kool.

With Zim and Morse back and the team hitting better now, that just makes them a whole new level of dangerous. And re-inforcements are on the way.

Somebody correct me if mistaken, but I don't think the Nats have had their most desired lineup as far as offense together for one single game this year due to injuries. Is that right? Morse was hurt and then before he comes back, others got hurt, and some are still out (Werth, Ramos, PH Tracy).

ack, hate this board, and my typing too. banghead

Injured Nationals nearing returns | nationals.com: News

As the Nationals continue to tear through the National League, the thought of additional reinforcements in Jayson Werth, Chad Tracy and Drew Storen coming after the All-Star break grows more promising by the day.

    Shaq Freestyle Rap Insulting Kobe

Shaq freestyle raps dissin' Kobe Bryant in a club in NYC a few days after the NBA Finals. -------------------------------------------- Shaq addressed it to the press today. (6/24) "I was freestyling. That's all. It was all done in fun. Nothing serious whatsoever. That is what MC's do. They freestyle when called upon. I'm totally cool with Kobe. No issue at all. And by the way, don't forget: six albums, two platinum, two gold. Anybody who knows me knows I'm a funny freestyler. Check the NBA DVD when I was rapping about Vlade Divac during my first championship run. Please tell everybody don't make something out of nothing." ---Shaq

  • That was fantastic to watch on TV, glad the crowd got into it as well. We need to work on being vocal as a fanbase.

Where did all the Giants fans come from?

I have no idea but I went Tuesday and last night and they were everywhere. Some very audible "let's go Giants" chants both nights.

  • If you follow Jon Morosi of Fox Sports on Twitter, he mentioned multiple times how impressed he is with Nats fans. Not just at the park but walking around the streets when he was here this week. Said last night during the 10 pitch Harper at bat, fans were so into it and the fact they applauded him after the weak groundout to 2B, praised the fan base.

  • How awesome was turn back the clock night, btw?

Retro scoreboard and the grounds crew decked out in 1920s gear was swagtastic.

The best thing that can come out of this aside from the national recognition is that Phil Wood will finally go away realizing that this is the mountaintop and nothing else good can happen in his life.

The only bad thing from yesterday is that they ran out of skinny dub hats at the team store so now I'm gonna have to steal Keegs's.

LOL. That was very, very kool, I'm sure the basebol Gods are very happy. Got a huge kick out of that. The only thing better than winning in the bottom of the 9th would have been winning in the bottom of 12th like our 1924 Nats did, but I'm not complaining. I'm sure the ghosts of the 1924 Nats wouldn't complain either. lol.

Would have been really interesting with flannel unis for the total realistci effect. There wasn't a player on the Giants who hadn't completely sweated through that dark uniform.

    sugarmag

  • after seeing the uniforms i really liked 'em. at first i was skeptical, but it seems the fan base and team (both teams for that matter) liked 'em.

you know your fan base is really into a squad when there's such a high demand for throwback swag and there's a big hoopla over uniforms, etc (see: caps, winter classic)
