11th on the WAR grid since 2006 ahead of the likes of Adrian Gonzalez, Jose Reyes, Mark Teixeira, Adrian Beltre, Evan Longoria, and Dustin Pedroia.
Pretty average, IMO!

Pedroia only had a handful of at bats in 2006 and Longoria didn't debut until 2008.

It is definitely a very good offseason. If they had also added a legit CF, premier 1B or a SS upgrade, that might have been "amazing".
Pitching (the biggest upgrade) was not the Nats' weakness and EJax only got a one year deal anyway.

Relatively speaking, this offseason was amazing for a franchise that, outside recent drafts, had more or less added nice pieces that were completely useless to our long-term goals (Soriano, Donkey, etc.) or incredible risks (Milledge, Dukes, etc). As was stated a thousand times, 1B would have been nice, but not at that price. SS will be sorted out over the next season....I'm not buying like Terpito, but I think we'll get a better idea of where Desmond stands this year and I'm not ready to give up on him in this lineup. Washington! CF is the lone disappointment IMO.

Ladson says the option year is for $18M, not $24M. With incentives, total value of the deal could be $150M.

there are a few players i like on your team. i don't think the FO did enough to upgrade one of the worst offenses in baseball, though. i think they finish 3rd behind the braves and phillies (although it wouldn't shock me to see the phillies drop off big this year). i think anywhere from 79-84 wins is par for the course for this roster.
