he couldn't leave his own batting cage until he missed out on hitting a home run. he planned on arriving sunday, but he hit 17,203 consecutive dingers in his cage so he couldn't get out until today. the one that broke the streak just went foul.

If they don't get a deal done andZim sticks to his won't-sign-in-season (which I believe) then a Ryan Zimmerman trade at the July 31st deadline becomes a very real possibility, according to my sources. If you wait longer, you get little value and even with 1 1/2 seasons left, you don't get 100 cents on the dollar or anywhere near it.

Loved the Harper video with Harold Reynolds.
Just reinforces why I like the guy.
Yeah, he's immature and kind of a douche, but you will never, ever have to worry about him slacking off or getting in trouble off the field. He breathes baseball. He's going to play his ass off for us for the duration of his contract and then he'll sign with the Yankees for eleventy billion dollars. As long as you just accept that going in, it's a lot easier to deal with.
And again, I don't mind the villain association that comes with him. I kind of relish that. It makes us a better product. An attraction in other cities when Strasburg isn't pitching. People don't hate bums. We could use some personality on our roster, anyway. That's one area we are kind of lacking, minus Morse.

I think someone told Boz this hoping he'd print it to make everyone think the Nats will play hardball.
I'd have to actually see them trade Zimmerman before I believed it would happen.

(SIAP) So, I still don't believe they would even consider trading him this July, but apparently Zim deadline for this season is Friday and not opening day.

Yeah, I have no idea why the Rays would have wanted Dunn.
However, not trading Soriano and getting the pick that turned into JZ was a good non-move.
