I have a feeling the next 10 days are going to be bananas with trades. Like Carter-Richards level stuff. It should be fun to see the GMs swing their balls around.

Is the reason they're looking to deal Staal cap-related? Because I feel like the Pens would dearly miss him.

Sort of cap related, sort of Get-a-winger-for-Sid related. When the big three come up for salary negotiations, it's likely we won't be able to afford one of them.

Also, the CRAZIEST part about that Carolina rumor is it would have opened up plenty of money that the Pens could consider signing Parise or Suter.

The talk from Shero is that he wants to sign Staal, and he wants to move at least two defense men Martin being the main one he's looking to move. The Pens have $9 million tied to those two salaries. If Staal will sign long term in Carolina, I'd move him as long as I could send Martin along with him.
