Also, in case any television highlight people are reading.........I want to get stabby whenever someone says "Last chance for the Nuggets..." during highlights. THAT MEANS THEY MISSED IT. THANKS FOR SPOILING THAT! Odds are I didn't exactly watch that game and have no idea of the outcome before seeing the highlights. The highlights, then, become almost a mini game.

For years, I always thought the hockey club which plays in MSG had the longest team name in sports. It was "The New York Rangers, who haven't won a Stanley Cup since 1940". Well, after they finally won in 1994, all that went away, but I've actually heard it creeping back into the vocabulary. Who the f*ck cares? Are they due a championship every so often?

Any time Doc Emrick uses the phrase "finessed on/along". I have a love hate relationship with his constant use of "careened".

I get the feeling that announcers are going to play a big part of this thread. One of mine - guaranteed to be heard numerous times every football season. A kickoff/punt return near the end of half/game and the returned goes out of bounds, and the guy chimes in with something like "what a heady play to get to the sideline ". No dumbass the clock stops no matter what on the change of possession.

this has happened literally zero times. ray charles has killed more jews than times this happened.

This definitely only happened in The Replacements.

One of the things that bothers more than it should is officials/refs/umps who are obviously influenced by the moment of the game and make more pronounced and animated calls. Just because it's a close game and a close play at first base doesn't mean the umpire needs to throw his arm out making a call. Or King Karl tearing his labrum on a charge call with 10 seconds left.

When Michael Cole gives away the fact that there isn't going to be a pin by shouting really loud about how it's over. Stop spoiling the endings of big matches, asshole!

Following a fumble, football players who immediately point in their team's direction when they clearly had no better view of the ball than the guy sitting in the top of the upper deck.
Similarly, soccer players constantly pointing in their team's direction when the ball is clearly out of bounds on them.

Or, similarly, when ESPN has the score of the game in the sidebar on Sportscenter while showing the highlights.
