Khan vs. Peterson Fight

  • WELCOME TO DC SON

    Terpito

  • Khan got screwed

  • Docking a second point seemed excessive...Hell of a fight though. Would love to see a rematch

  • Probably should have been a draw. The Knock Down was BS. So, were the pushing point deductions.

I feel good for Peterson. And Khan was Kind of a bitch post-fight.

  • Khan got whored. It was close, but he won the fight. If that last push hadn't been called then I guess you could argue no harm, no foul - disputed knockdown vs. 1st pushing deduction. But that 2nd penalty was over the line. Rematch should be in London, if we're being fair.

  • Good fight. DC homecookin' came in handy for Peterson but Lamont fought at a very high level. Just not good enough to win. Initially thought Khan was gonna outgun Peterson with his length, speed, and fast combos but he stood up to Amir and killed Khan to the body with excellent powershots but Khan was the busier fighter and won the later rds. Rematch should be in order.

I thought Khan came off OK. He had legit beef with the point deductions. Amir Khan has top billing on just about any fight card south of Mayweather, the Klitschkos(in Europe), and Pacquiao yet came to Peterson's backyard with his champion belt taking a huge risk(which backfired on him) when the fight could have easily been in Vegas. That counts for something.

  • Absolutely absurd officiating. 2 points for pushing is insane. That fight should have been a draw or Khan, certainly not Peterson. Did the most senior judge have Khan? I think so.

  • Great fight. I think the argument can be made that Khan was screwed, but what fight was the judge who had Khan ahead by 5 pts. (w/out the deductions) watching? Definitely looking forward to the rematch (which should be soon).

Were any of you lucky enough to be there?

  • I think it should have been a draw...the first point deducted was warranted but the second wasn't...partially to do with it's timing

They said it wasn't stadium seating? Most of those seats probably couldn't see a thing. Ovie and McNabb were there in the second row it looked like.

I was at the fight last night. Hell of a fight - first one I've been to outside of Vegas (I've been to the last few Pacquaio fights in Vegas). I'm a big Pacquaio/Freddy Roach fan so was disappointed with the outcome but the fight was worth every penny and I'm happy for Lamont Peterson.

I scored the fight a draw when watching it live but after re-watching this morning on HBO I had it 114-112 Khan even with the deductions... I scored the 9th round a draw and gave the last 3 rounds to Khan (12th round 9-9 due to point deduction) as Peterson didn't connect much in those last few rounds while Khan did connect with a bunch of flurries. I respect Khan's willingness to fight anyone anywhere but this is exactly why you don't take a match against a very tough opponent in the opponent's hometown when you don't need to... I think Khan overlooked Peterson to an extent so this loss falls on him.

The point deductions were BS (especially the one in the 12th) but then again so was the Khan KO in the 1st round. Also the constant pushing and holding of Peterson's head down Khan was doing throughout the fight was technically illegal. Khan boxed well but there were many times towards the middle and end of the fight where he was doing more running than actual boxing.

The seats I had were good - center of the ring view about 5 rows behind the ringside seats but it was difficult to see the ring without standing up because all the seats were on the floor so people walking by in the aisle in front of us blocked our view.

  • Are we all in agreement that Khan will win the rematch?
