Hey Caps Fans......Did you guys win the Stanley Cup last night?

If my Rangers win tonight, I'm going to walk into work tomorrow morning and french kiss my doorman.

  • not that we need to justify anything but the caps had won 2 series in the past 14 years, to say fans are overreacting after a grueling 7 game awesome series against the higher seeded defending champs is silly. and saying fans here are talking stanley cup is hyperbole just to support the attempted stupid point to be made.

The beauty of the SC playoffs is that every series is a monster and to get through one is tough and worth celebrating for a day or two.

As far as I can tell, DC doesn't even field a football or basketball team.

    low blow :(

  • I really hope BristolFor3 did not celebrate Cliff Tucker or Drew Nicholas' buzzer-beaters. That would be appalling.

Good grief. I've never been one to support the "act like you've been there" theory. If you want to go batshit crazy after a win, god speed. That's what life's all about. If my Rangers win tonight, I'm going to walk into work tomorrow morning and french kiss my doorman. Everything right and nothing wrong with celebrating good times. Ravens fans do it all the time. The city almost shuts down after a regular season win against Pitt. I love it. That's what makes them such great fans. I'm fairly certain if Baltimore had a hockey team, this city would be electric today. I hope it would be. Why not? Isn't that what great fans do? (Assuming Ward didn't miss the net by 20 yards wide left.)

You can never, ever, ever overreact to good times. For every bitter fan who thinks you are going overboard, there are 10 envious guys who wish they were wearing your shoes.

I screamed out loud at my own TV when Ward scored last night. That's what fans do.

I got beyond blacked out at Cornerstone celebrating the Wings knocking out the Ducks in '09, and that was only the semifinals. You celebrate the big wins, recuperate, and gear up for the next soul-grinding series.

Sucks that Baltimorons will never get to experience the joy and agony of their hometown NHL team playoff adventures, but such is life.

I don't get your shtick...you're from Detroit? ...but you root for Washington (and Detroit teams?)...and you hate Baltimore? The only thing I know about you is that you're a brother... Help us out...you really make no fucking sense.

as far as Caps...I'm not a hockey fan at all but was happy to see the Caps beat a team from Boston.

what was funny is talking to a couple of people from baltimore this week...they just wanted the Caps to win since the Bruins are from Boston. I thought that was pretty cool.

I root for DC and mainly poke fun at Baltimore, but I like that city too. I probably go to as many O's games as Nats games. I like the contrast that they both offer, and what each city brings to the table.

And yes, as a Detroiter I too hate Boston.

You're actually dead wrong about this. Ask anybody in the TC administration about how hard they get pawned when it comes to donations from Baltimore County. If you count Howard County and Anne Arundel County in Metropolitan Baltimore, then yes, the Terps do have a solid base there. But it kills (and perplexes) the TC how little support there is from Baltimore County.

It would be nice if they did ANYTHING in addition to asking for money, and holding events where you're constantly bothered for money. I live in Baltimore City, and me and all my friends who all root for the school are completely turned off at how we're hit with random-ass phone calls(every few days for me). That's literally the only outreach that I've ever gotten from the school, and I'm somone who university could hold up as successful. I don't have a ton of money to give away, but I'd be more than happy to support our AD if I knew it wasn't just going to be wasted

I felt like I should have issued an amber alert for myself, just in case

Holding events for people who don't want to donate for philanthropic reasons could very easily be categorized as wasted.

  • I never understood people donating to their schools. Why would you donate to a school that ripped you off of thousands of dollars, then to top it off they are asking you for money despite the fact that they extracted $50000-$100000 from you for a worthless degree?

Because some people didn't screw up the college experience half as badly as you clearly did?

Your degree is only worthless if you fail to take advantage of it.

Ummmm - because the TC's job is to raise money? But I know what you mean. I'm always pissed at McDonalds because it seems all they want me to do is buy their food. Just for once I'd like to see a commercial or go into a McDonalds and just have them kiss my ass and not want me to buy their food.
