Hey Caps Fans......Did you guys win the Stanley Cup last night?

I swear by listening to the radio, news, co-workers, etc I thougth there was going to be a parade in ChinaTown today showing off Lord Stanley's Cup.
Seriously, it was a first round series win. Guess what, 7 other teams are going to do the same.
I guess loser organizations grasp a the littlest things.

Meh, I'm not a hockey guy, but I find it hard to criticize fans getting excited about their team winning a playoff series (especially in exciting fashion).
The only thing I find amusing is that I know several people who I know for a fact don't know jackshit about hockey are suddenly "OMG CAPS!!!!"

Obviously the OP hasn't been around long enough to know the history of the Caps and their epic playoff failures. Winning game 7.....on the road.....in overtime doesn't happen for the Caps, it happens to them. Let us enjoy what is considered an upset and good feelings that come along with moving along to the next round. I would think the term survive and advance would mean something to the OP.

I love the Caps but let's be clear, Baltimore > sports town than D.C. I don't care how many pro teams a city has. It's the same reason Pittsburgh is a better sports town than D.C. D.C. is one of the more fickle fanbases in the country (except the Redskins). Can't say the same thing about Baltimore.

of course Baltimore has a large concentration of Maryland fans compared to DC. DC attracts people from all over the world to work there. Baltimore attracks people from western maryland.

14 straight losing seasons and good attendance doesn't work in baseball. It could for football or Canadian hockey. Back in the early 2000s the orioles had good attendance for a terrible team but then the franchise continued to go down in the dump.
