HS Basketball video goes viral

Some guy posted clips of fouls at his nephew's basketball game and it now has over 4 million views on youtube. The comments section of the video has been turned off. Not only that but a local newspaper seemingly feeds the fire by naming the two players in question and quoting their coach, defending his kids' actions.

The comments are most interesting in these articles. A couple posts claim the videographer took steps to ensure this video went viral. The masses seem to be harrassing the school and the players. I didn't go through all the comments, but there is mention of someone's twitter account being taken down.

of the fouls he posted, I think 2 were maybe flagrant and one probably deserved a technical (the shove) because it was part of a pattern of play that was a little bit ridiculous.
The plays on their own are probably all defensible, but the pattern was a bit troubling. They should have started giving out flagrants and/or technicals to settle things down.

we discussed this in the randomness thread yesterday.
IMO this kid is completely unathletic and hasn't been properly coached. On a number of those fouls he thinks that jumping an inch off the ground and swatting at anything is how you block a shot.
When he clotheslines the kid and is standing for the foul shot he looks incredibly proud of what he just did. The coach should have stepped in a long time ago.

Two, maybe 3 of those were flagrant fouls. Either way, number 34 is a piece of shit. It's not a coaching issue. He is simply a piece of shit.

The fat kid looks like nothing more than a painfully unathletic (to be fair, the level of play didn't exactly look top notch) piece of garbage. Obviously not all of them were flagrant but I don't see how a ref could see the fifth foul on that video and not call a flagrant foul. As baldwin alludes to, you can tell this kid's role is fouling thug...his little smirk after the fifth foul is pathetic.
I got the shotgun. You got the briefcase. It's all in the game though, right?

I'm all for hard fouls but he doesn't really go for the ball in a couple of those. I think the guy posting the video makes his point better if he leaves out #2.
#34 looks like what I think a typical Ravens fan looks like. Like a little stro trying to play a sport with pathetic and dangerous results.

agree. how do you not go to bat for your players? talk to the refs after the first hard foul. i would have been running out on the court causing a scene after the second hard foul.

..and on top of that, why doesn't anybody on the red team get in #34's face? At the very least, say "Gee Mr. Big Clown, I don't appreciate that type of play". It's like they didn't care that #34 was trying to Rock Bottom their teammates.

After the guy lands on his back the coach should have pulled his team from the court.... all the refs should get lifetime bans from officiating anywhere
