The thing with Angelos is that when he dies, he's just going to pass it off to his son. Who knows if things will be any better?

It's better than knowing positively that things will never get better.

Why aren't you guys Ravens fans yet?

If I ever decide to pick a new team I will at least pick a team that wins.

  • There isn't a worse professional situation in the country than the Redskins.

Chip Kelly --> NFL --> Fired --> Maryland

Wtf. You can't change teams and be a bandwagon fan.

"I think he’s not that guy any more, if he ever was. John Elway had a lot to do with his success, put it that way.... "

I am so sick of hearing this BS. People have been quoted as saying he has a .500 record post Elway and that's not even close. For the record Shanny's record after Elway retired is 91-69. For those keeping score at home that's a 758 winning percentage.

    Whoops! That's not right.

    Sure you can.

It makes you an insecure loser with a shitty outlook on life, and everybody will hate you and wish you were dead. But certainly you can do it if you so choose.

  • Alright...so this is a serious question on my part.

I am honestly about to dump the Redskins.

I feel like this is the best place to perhaps TRY to get some rational thoughts on this subject.

Let me say, in principle, I HATE to do this. I really do. But hear me out...

    Reasons not to do it:
    1. Dropping a team is the worst. I mean THE WORST.
    2. I grew up a Redskins fan in the late 80's and early 90's. They were my first love in sports.
    3. I knew what it was like when DC was galvanized around a team. I was at MD when they won the ACC in football and the NCAA's in basketball and those were the only sport experiences that compared to DC in the late 80's and early 90's.
    4. If they ever get good again, I would legit feel horrible for abandoning them.

    Reasons to do it:
    1. Dan Snyder.
    2. Dan Snyder.
    3. Dan Snyder.
    4. I feel like with the Redskins nowadays it's like being with a girl who treats me like shit all the time. She doesn't care about me and I don't care about her nearly as much as I used to. But we stay together even though I know she sucks because we've been together for so long.
    5. I really don't want to give that asshole Dan Snyder any of my money, even in the form of TV ratings.
    6. The Ravens are geographically acceptable (I'm an O's fan), and they do EVERYTHING right. They actually care about their fans. They make their games fun. And they're actually really fun to watch.
    7. I'd actually be pissed on some level if the Skins won the Super Bowl because I'd have to watch that POS Snyder raise a SB trophy. It's a small consolation that I'm pretty positive it will never happen.
    8. Dan Snyder could seriously own the Skins for the rest of my life. Do I never get to have any joy from pro football again?

That's all I can think of right now. It's late.

But I've honestly been contemplating the switch over for a while now. It kills me, I mean KILLS me, what that piece of rat shit Snyder has done to our team, but really...he sucks...he's destroyed the franchise. They no longer give me any joy whatsoever.

Probably the same reason O's fans haven't switched to the Nats.

Bad analogy. The O's and Nats are two bad teams, and cheap ones, too. The Ravens and Redskins are polar opposites.

I would argue the Orioles are worse. The Redskins at least own a Brinks truck filled with gold coins, but the Orioles can't even spend their way out of misery.

Yeah but it is much, much easier to get good in the NFL. The Orioles are in one of the worst situations in sports. The Redskins are on a level playing field.

    strOterp

  • the O's are in MUCH worse shape than the skins, it's not even close. you can bullshit your way to a 10-6 year in the NFL.

  • Another distinction between the Orioles and Skins is I really think Danny Boy wants a winning team. His ego takes a beating over losing, and I'm sure it especially drives him nuts that the guy up the parkway has a better franchise. So I really think in his heart he wants the Redskins to win.

As for Angelos, I'm not even sure he is a baseball fan. He just wants to pocket his MASN money.
