Take it easy on poor Manatee. He's understandably salty. I had to look up an Orioles depth chart and saw Jake Arrieta really is their Opening Day starter. That's pretty sad.
I see they've also signed Nats retreads LOLuis Ayala and walking injury Nick Johnson!
My god I don't miss those days at all. Hang in there, Huge. Hang in there.
Serious question -- would a single Orioles pitcher make the Nats' roster? Jim Johnson could be a middle-reliever. That's the only guy I would take.
Position players, I'd take Jones and Hardy. Weiters is slightly better than Ramos, but not nearly as much as O's fans would try and argue, so I'll stick with Wilson.
Congrats, the O's have FOUR players good enough to play for the Nats.
It's easy to say hang in there as a Nats fan. As an O's fan the waiting period is already up to 15 years and hopelessness has never been higher than right now. The depression factor cannot be understated.
yeah but you're actually a decent fan and you know what you're talking about. can't say the most about the others in your group.
Growing up a diehard O's fan (and still root for them as my AL team), I don't trash talk them as much as others. I would take Hardy (over Desmond), Jones (as CF), Jim Johnson (middle relief), Wieters (ugw makes a good point in that I think Ramos is underrated, but Wieters is the better catcher), a healthy B-Rob, Reimold (over Bernadina/Ankiel), their black uniforms, Arrieta (as nats long man) and Camden Yards over Nats Park.
Brian Roberts is clinically dead. He doesn't count.
I'm only counting starters and pitchers, not bench players, so no, Reimold would not make that cut.

John Lannan emails media, saying he has asked Mike Rizzo to be traded.
He'll pitch in Syracuse and he'll like it!
Interesting tweet from Kligore
ll along, the Nats have been been fine with stashing Lannan in the minors for rotation depth. I don't know if they prepared for this.
Lannan doesnt have the service time to demand anything. Go to Syracuse, and like it Johnny Boy.
They've been shopping him all spring.
Lannan has a terrible Natitude.
Pretty selfish on Lannan's part. Has a chance to be a part of something special, but would rather take care of himself than try and help the team. It's especially dumb considering there are several starters with bad history of injuries. Wouldn't mind keeping him, but if we can get someone good in return, I wouldn't think twice.
There's the rub - if you could get anything for him they already would have. They can't. They would have to give him away. Rizzo would rather have the insurance policy for the rotation. Lannan doesn't have the leverage to do this right now.
The best he could do would be to file a grievance claiming that he was demoted (instead of sent to the pen) to stop his service time clock. That would be hard to prove though.

I can see why he's upset though. I don't think he'd have the same reaction if he was put in the pen as opposed to demoted.
The demotion actually raises his value slightly since (assuming he stays down for a month or so) he'll be under team control for an extra year (2.5 years from this June , for example).
That's depressing. I do feel bad for most of you.
Would Orioles fans trade Camden Yards right now, to be replaced with an exactly average stadium, for a legit top 10 MLB owner?
Wow. Fascinating question. I know I would. If I was an Orioles fan, as much as Id love Camden Yards, at least I could get a normal owner, who might give me a half chance at a winning team. As it is now, the deck is stacked against them, and even the supposed "long term" is just Bundy, Machado, and possibly Schoop.
Uh....I call one.
Ready for this season and hopefully making a bunch of games...good time to be a Nats fan
omg dudes ... this is really happening ... in like 10 hours.
get your shirts in time for the home opener!!

I'd like to keep CY, but I'd trade the Ravens (and the Super Bowl win) right back out of town.
