watching the Under Armour high school game. The white team just snapped the ball over the QB's head and it hit a cameraman who is standing about 10 yards behind the play. and yes the cameraman is pretty much standing next to the referee.
It sounds then like you have an issue with the fact that the half-the-distance-to-the-goal rule exists in the first place. I thought you were questioning why it was applied outside the yard line corresponding to the penalty distance (i.e. the 10 yard line for a holding penalty, etc)
I know this has probably been asked before, but why is a stiff-arm to a defender's face mask not a penalty?
well I was, but then your answer led me to think it should just not exist at all.
because touching a face mask - whether it be an offensive OR defensive player is not a penalty. If the runner stiff-armed and grabbed or twisted the defender's face mask it would be a penalty.
An offensive lineman pushing a d-lineman's facemask is flagged all the time, even when there is no grabbing, twisting or groping of the mask.
WTF? The Falcons want a new stadium? Really?
Why shouldn't they? The Georgia Dome sucks.
FedExField opened 5 years after the Georgia Dome, and I've wanted a new stadium since day 1.
eamhokie94: Is your name Nazi in pig Latin?
FedEx Field is such a dump. Skins fans deserve way better.
Neil deGrasse Tyson @neiltyson
How many field goals in N/S stadiums flick the left upright's inside edge & bounce backwards? Blame those on Earth's rotation
how are these 2 things not penalties? Both happened in the Baltimore/Denver game.
Player comes into the endzone to celebrate and not wearing helmet - not considered 15 yd unsportsmanlike/taunting because he wasn't in on the play.
Kicker takes a practice kick on field between overtime field switch gaining an obvious advantage. NFL says it's not against the rules but the refs could ask the kicker to leave the field. 2 things here...why isn't it against the rules?..and 2) since it's not against the rules couldn't the kicker tell the ref to go fuck himself if asked to leave the field?
how is that Player Not to be Named still playing college basketball? He's at Iowa State now. POS.
great shirt by a student in last night's iNCeST game. "Too B1G for the ACC"
The announcer even read it and then seemed to realize he probably had a directive from the ACC not to talk about Maryland leaving.
THere was also a great "moist" sign that made me laugh inexplicably.
I get why Ravens are seemingly the most hated franchise in the NFL. The hits just keep on coming.
why would they be hated for that? certainly isnt something i would do but its kind of cool.
lol maybe on this board, but it has to be Steelers or Patriots over all.
You serious? This board isn't exactly representative of the country as a whole. The fan base is relatively easy to troll, so we get a lot of shit on here, but nationwide I can't imagine there are many people that give a fuck about the Ravens or their fans either way. Cowboys, Steelers and other such nation-wide frontrunner fanbases are way, way more hated overall.
well, I've done a fair bit of traveling in this country - including living in several states. And EVERYONE has a reason to hate the Ravens. Just like everyone hated the Raiders in the 70s and 80s. They just do. Ravens might not be their most hated, but nearly everyone hates them.
And no, that hair is not pretty cool.

Sportscenter (West Coast edition) just used the highlights for Arizona-Arizona State from the Fox Sports-Wisconsin feed.
"Maryland football: Where everybody gets hurt and the starting left tackle has an existential crisis."
Nobody (outside of this area and a few rival cities) cares enough about the Ravens to hate them.
