She's currently issuing a mea culpa on Twitter.
Someone at ESPN needs to get fired for letting her write for the website.
Yeah she's tweeting now, basically blaming it on the Indians.
Her twitter picture even looks photoshopped in some way. Her body looks way too small for her head.
There's a serious probability that if a girl is fanatically interested in sports but isn't an athlete she has serious emotional problems and is likely a mental patient in waiting.
Yeah, her arms look like starving African kid arms in her twitter pic.
Great reporting by Deadspin. Wild story.
Guy who hired her at ESPN is well-respected from what I recall, but damn,

Ehh, lots of people dislike Hoppes. A LOT of people.
You better flee, Hoppes
Or get your head flown three blocks
I am following her again for the entertainment value of the meltdown/apology etc
I recall reading/hearing good things about him a few years back, but am not personally familiar. Will take your word.
I don't get the "Nilsen Report" angle to this story at all.
Either this website doesn't exist or is not currently available.

Wait, there is more. Very little of it makes sense...
Sarah Phillips, the former ESPN.com contributor and self-professed gambling guru, is having a bit of conscience cleansing tonight, in the wake of our investigation into whether she was part of a larger, more nefarious con job and how ESPN editors could actually employ someone that they had never actually met in person.
Wow. This will keep unraveling. Appears to me she and her partner(s) conned their way into taking over a bunch of social media accounts and content websites, which they then used to promote eachother and her. She seems equal parts crazy and smart as hell.
What is the point of buying an account just for its twitter followers? I gather that most of her followers were spam accounts of some kind. Why would that have any value?
She conned the guy into getting her a bunch of twitter followers, which she then probably used to promote these sites she'd stolen (ad revenue).
She seems like one of those crazy people on the "Who the bleep did I marry?" shows my wife watches on that ID channel except she's actually attractive.
LOL I swear to god, I keep going back and forth in my mind.......she is an effing psychotic lunatic............no, wait, she is brilliant and very intelligent........I can't decide!
she was giving away $200-300 in contests during the NFL season. I am sure there were a BUNCH of legit winners too!
She appears to be all of those things, but Id never even heard of her til today. That's funny about the contests.
well, that is the sad part of this story. 98% of people who are reading about it really don't truly get it. you have to be a gambler and spend a ton of time on twitter to have fully comprehended just what "she" was all about. I give "her" credit for pulling it off though......she fooled a ton of intelligent people from all walks of life ; small bettors, big bettors, network people, etc.
yeah pretty much this.
It sounds like "Sarah" has scams wrapped up in scams and they are about to get unwrapped. I think it hilarious that because of the ESPN connection she was able to get so many people not to question her bona fides. The world wide leader, indeed.
Was listening to this song as I read this comment
It's amazing. She (?) not only scammed randoms but one of the world's biggest companies. My theory is the guy is behind everything and paid her to use her picture and do the video she did.
So this is the person responsible for the 10 billion stupid condescending wonka retweets I see every day? I hate her already.
Agreed. She is the front and probably exposed legally to a lot of acts she does not know about yet. Should be fun reading for a few days.
