People really routinely have practices where the coach rifles a ball at the back of your head?
That's some bullshit.
I played basketball through high school, and I can safely say I never had a coach throw a basketball at my face, nor call me a slur of any kind. Rutgers might not be the only place in the country it happens, but it's certainly not commonplace, especially in this era of videotaped college practices.
Lefty did, now he's all :leftyterp.
Gary used to throw balls at the players and managers during his hey day of tantrums.
Using homophobic slurs for a highly visible state employee is an absolute no-no. So President or AD can stand by that.
Anything else baldwin and bkmalik? I guess goterpss, kyle anderson (who played under bob hurley), and kurt rambis - all liars.

"Turgeon has 3 key guys on current roster - Allen, Dez, and Jake - that have not improved." -Orioleterp
the president references "external investigator's findings and recommendations" as basis for suspension, fine and counseling in december. is this enough cover for him and the AD to keep their jobs?
From Yahoo! Sports: ''As I stated three months ago after I watched the video how deeply regrettable those actions (were). I also stated I was going to try to work on changing. I think I've accomplished a lot of that.
NYCTerp is now OCTerp
The greatest basketball throwing tantrum at a MD practice I ever saw wasn't coach on player but player on coach. Blake used to have some epic tantrums and one time he got PISSED cause he lost a game...and he threw the ball in the air and kicked it as hard as he could soccer-goalie style. The ball flew 100 mph and smacked Dave Dickerson in the head 15 feet away and damn near gave him a concussion.
It shouldn't be. External advisors (whether lawyers, investigators, etc.) only ADVISE and RECOMMEND. They have no decision-making authority. I think the AD definitely has to go; not sure about the President.
Same here, when we messed up we ran until we were dead.
1)Rutgers fires its AD
2) Based on Jim Delaney's recommendation Rutgers hires Kevin Anderson

Eddie Jordan apparently the front runner from the job by many people. Former NBA guy and RU grad. If he gets the right assts. on board with him, it could be a good hire IMO.
This is laughably stupid.
The former player development guy handed the tapes off to them. They would have done the same with any other school.
Kurt Rambis is on ESPN going on and on about how Tice crossed the line and shouldn't coach like that
Seems like many are pushing for Dan Hurley as the top candidate to replace Mike Rice.
I imagine he'd take the job, but who really knows, considering the program's history of being a bottom-dweller.
Rutgers is the punching bag on the Eastern side of the Big Ten in basketball (Penn State's right there with them, even though Patrick Chambers is trying).
Rutgers has finally cut ties with Mike Rice. Athletic director Tim Pernetti now has a decision -- who to hire next? Not even he can screw this one up. The only choice is Danny Hurley.

In fact, it would have been worse, IMO, due to the name Texas or Florida or USC or whatever.
"It's just so hard," Greivis said. "It's my heart, my love. Maryland made me who I am."
I love everyone saying "The sports world was STUNNED by these videos of Mike Rice" No the sports world wasn't stunned. Everyone else was.
It's totally ok with me if he is winning Big East titles and going to Final Fours. I'm not trolling at all either.
The kids go on visits. They meet their future teammates. You can tell if guys hate it.
By any means necessary IF it's getting the job done. Athletes have a fucked up mentality lol.
So much worse stuff happens. Our HS football coach did way worse stuff then this. My 2nd HS football coach was Jonathan Ogdens high school coach but was fired a couple years later for punching a kid in the face before resurfacing at my military academy. That guy was only about half as intense as my public school coach though...former walk on OL at UMD...the guy was insane.
Wally Judge declaring for the NBA? Ummmmmmmmmmm, enjoy Europe.
EDIT: Jk, he has denied the reports

did goterps really say that Gary used to do some of this stuff and no one blinked about it?
I only watched 3 practices of his, but I never saw anything remotely close to his sideline persona in them.
