You call five hundred people lined up on a railing of the concourse "trace" amounts?
This is a silly post colfy.
You can live in a nicotine/cannabis chamber in your PRIVATE home all you want, I don't care. But don't expose others.
Also, colfy, why aren't pot brownies more popular? I have a couple friends who smoke a lot and it stinks, I like their company but not the pot fumes, do you think they'd be offended if I asked them to switch to brownies when we hang out?
Because brownies have a ton of fat and calories that will shorten your life span. If you eat brownies you are an idiot.
That's not true. It's completely dependent on the rest of your diet and what ingredients are in the brownie.
Brownies in moderation do not shorten your lifespan, at all.
You're basically echoing the point that a private area away from the concourse, as the current smoking areas are, should be fine. Those areas aren't nearly close enough where nonsmokers would be exposed to any smoke. I'd enforce the only smoking in the private area rule rather than the outright ban but such is the nature of most stadiums these days so one can't complain too much. I think the earlier implication that one is being exposed to cancer when breathing in the occasional secondhand smoke is a bit over the top. I believe brownies are less popular because it's a different, less pleasurable to most, high. Tell your friends to smoke better stuff, won't smell bad or maybe loosen up a bit.
I got the shotgun. You got the briefcase. It's all in the game though, right?
Correct. Smoking in moderation also won't shorten your lifespan.
You left out unprotected sex.
No Colonel Sanders, you are wrong
If I eat a brownie a day and still workout and run, no harm will come of it.
If I smoke a pack a day, workout and run, I still have a high risk of lung cancer.
I wouldnt consider a pack of cigarettes a day moderate
And if you go for a run you might get hit by a car and die at 21.
Look, I don't think anyone is arguing that yes, smoking is unhealthy and if you do it long enough it will kill you. The majority of my family smokes/smoked and I've never taken a puff of a cigarette in my life but you aught to step down of your soapbox because not everyone who smokes is an idiot. Part of me thinks people that smoke are smart enough to realize that you're not going to live forever and fuck, might as well enjoy what is most certainly a fleeting life. If you think that people who live the longest or are the healthiest when they're 65 get some kind of prize, you're going to be disappointed.
/end philosophical rant
"The biggest losers in life are people correcting message board grammar . Fact not opinion"
With all your name changes, I forget it's still a troll under there
Individual mileage is going to vary but the point remains that a brownie, per se, is NOT harmful and a cigarette, per se, IS harmful. Those are the facts.
Lung cancer is a miserable way to go, though. Seeing it up-close is not pleasant, and I'll leave it at that.
"And I try to har-mo-nize with songs the lonesome sparrow sings...
There are no kings inside the Gates of Eden."
So why don't you smoke?
Because I have other vices, just like we all do.
Getting to know your grandkids, etc. is a pretty amazing prize actually.
it's not silly. 3 years ago we'd have been laughed at if we said soda was the next thing to get banned.
I hate cigarette smoke too. I just like freedom more.
As for pot brownies, it's much harder to affect dosage that way. It hits differently and feels differently. Not to mention the fat and butter. And of course, the never ending cycle of eating one, getting high, getting hungry, eating one...
Just want to point out soda is not banned.
Good cause Billy likes to drink soda.
Lets see how many Adam Sandler movie references I can make in one day.
Of course, we all do. But here are statistics from a European Study on Lung Cancer percentages:
0.2% for men who never smoked (0.4% for women)
5.5% for male former smokers (2.6% in women)
15.9% for current male smokers (9.5% for women)
24.4% for male “heavy smokers” defined as smoking more than 5 cigarettes per day (18.5% for women)
In the US, 60% of lung cancer patients die within a year and only 15% of Lung Cancer patients survive more than 5 years, Smoking accounts for 80-90% of all lung cancer cases.
I just don't see how a sensible, intelligent human being can look at those numbers and still continue to smoke. There are far better ways to enjoy life or get a rise with much less risk.
If you understand these risks and continue to smoke because you only want to do so, then you are not an idiot.
But if you proclaim to want to be able to see your children get married, have grandchildren, and live out most of your golden years in good health, then you are in fact an idiot if you continue to smoke. Life is fleeting, as you say.
If you smoke and then quit your lungs clean that shit right out if you give them enough time. So just make sure you quit at some point. That's what I'd do

The Stadium Authority, who made the No Smoking decision, will rrequire people go out the stadium entrances to smoke but they made a concession to allow those people to come back to see the remainder of the game!!!
...like unprotected anal sex. ccterp is the master of the rusty trombone technique during an Eiffel Tower engagement.
Exactly, like unprotected anal sex. Don't see them banning that in Camden Yards anytime soon. Jokes on you, idiot smokers!
